I love Soulwax and my new hair!
Aw man, Soulwax on Monday was totally jammin! They were amazing live, played pretty much all their best songs including Excuse Me and E Talking. Definitely think Any Minute Now is well better than Much Against Everyone's Advice, though it's still a good album. Any Minute's defintely harder...for want of a better word. I was right at the front with (I think) the only 4 other people in the crowd who were jumpin around and goin mad. I asked them if they thought the rest of the crowd were on sedatives or something and they agreed. I'd had about 6 Jack D n Coke's so was pretty tipsy and jumped about copiously singing in that drunk/tipsy way you do when you're at a gig. So that the only person that can hear your voice is the sober poser right next to you who gets an earful, heh heh.
So afterwards I managed to convince everyone to go to the Art School for the special 2 Many DJs set!!! Me loves 2 Many DJs, mmmhmmm. Got some charlie before going and rattled some in the car on the way. The queue was massive though, even at midnight which is when we arrived. We skipped the Q n all but we were still waitin bloody 25 minutes or so to get in. Although I was so damn happy about our Q placement when 2 Many DJs pulled up right where we were at the entrance steps! I honestly think me n Beavis were the only people who knew who they were. I ran over and shook their hands and told them how good their set was and they seemed dead nice, down to earth guys. They seemed shocked when I said they were amazing at the Soulwax gig and kept saying "Really, you thought we were good?"
So finally we got in, just managed to get to the front of the bar queue and the fuckin fire alarm went off. So back outside we went again, grrrrrrrr. Bumped into a pretty drunk Alicia from my course and sang old Outhere Brothers tunes while waitin for the fire engines.
The 2 Many DJs set was blinding, although it was so busy on the dancefloor I didn't have as much fun as I would have normally. I like having space to dance and move about. And if there's no space I at least would appreciate apologies from cunts barging past me and pouring beer down ma back, grrrr. That's one thing I didn't like about the night, the people. It seemed like no-one could apologise for falling into me or elbowing me in the face or standing all over me and dragging their trail of mates past me whilst stamping all over my feet. Uurgh, does no-one but the eckied people have manners these days?
So anyway, the set, ahh so good. Mixed in Blur, Flat Eric, some tunes from As Heard on Radio Soulwax and a couple of tunes I have on my Mauro Picotto CD. Mmmm, hard house.
So afterwards I got in the house about quarter to 4 or something. After removing my makeup and minging clothes and inspecting myself in the mirror I realised how much I needed a shower. So I had a shower at 4am and tried to dry my hair as quietly as possible, heehee. Took me ages to actually get to sleep after that as well cause all I could hear was the pounding tunes in my head and ringing in my ears, sign of a bangin night.
Set my alarm for 7.15 lol. Remember it goin off, but don't remember turning it off so consequently fell back to sleep. Luckily ma wondrous mum chapped on my door at 8.10, which is when I'm supposed to leave for uni when I have 9am lectures! So rushed ma ass off n made it in for Physiology at 9.10am. I rule, haven't missed one lecture yet **smug face**
So today I was in 10-12, I love Wednesdays :) and then went to get ma hair cut. I like it, lot more spiky and messy feminine mohawkish. Still some blue there, but unsure whether I should dye it dark purple right now, or leave it a bit. I got so attached to the blue, people notice it and know who you are. I seriously doubt half the people/lecturers on ma course would know who I am if it weren't for ma hair. But it's not even....meh, think I'll leave it till next week. Need some readjustment time before I can get rid of it.
Oh yea, I wandered into Cult today to look around for possible Christmas presents for ma wee bro cause the way I'm spending ma bursary I figure I should get a head start y'know. They were playing 2 Many DJs in there so I was dancing around looking at stuff when a guy came up and asked me if I needed a hand with anything. I said no, but told him to thank whoever put 2 Many DJs on. He laughed and then said "I know you". I looked at him closer and then realised he was ma Pixies T in The Park buddy Ross! It was so cool seeing him again, I really thought I'd never meet him after that. We had so much fun watchin the Pixies together and singing along with the mad Irish guy who put me on his shoulders, ahhh the memories. So we just chatted and chatted and before we even realised we'd been talking for nearly an hour and he was supposed to be on his lunch! He's staying in Byres Road and working in Cult full time so I should see him again, he's such a sweetie.
Jesus, I've been on this so goddamn long, need to get going and do my Ethics "homework"
