The excuse I used to use about this journal was that I was waiting for Interesting Things to Happen before I bothered to write in it. For starters, I got sick of scrolling through endless entries about video games when I wanted to look through my own diary to see when something big happened and what I thought about it at the time. Ahahaha, you have no idea how many times the exact phrase "I quit. So you don't have to pay me" has echoed through my head while working there.

They make me work the front end quite often, because it gets them out of allocating hours to (or, y'know, hiring) an actual cashier... aside from the suckiness of working the front end, this stresses me out because when I'm stuck at the front, that's time I can't use to finish the backlog of orders at the copy center. And guess who gets blamed when those orders are late? (Oh, I could go on and on.) I haven't sold a single warranty either. (Thankfully, the copy center is very far away from the tech area.)

Believe me, I'm on the same page as you here. I've long been activating those cards for the customers and getting chewed out for it (because that, like everything else, is tracked)... the Mystery Shoppers are telling them I don't use the Order Envelopes... and of course they've already threatened to cut my hours. The exit seems inevitable.

The problem is that I have no exit plan. Yes, this job is shitty but it's all I could find after months of unfruitful, financially disastrous searching. I have physical limitations that eliminate a lot of jobs (like, say, waiting tables) available to people like me with no degree, no useful experience, no specific skills and a somewhat spotty job history. It's true that I am better than this. I just need to figure out what I am good enough for... and how I'm going to get there.
