my cell phone starts ringing...
"hello?"
"hi may i speak to kevin yu please."
"yees? speaking"
"Oh hi, i was wondering whether you would like to partake in a game of risk at my residence today."
"....yeah.....i would love to, buut i'm kind of sitting in brooklyn."
"...oh that would be a problem."
and that was that. so i have spent alot of time at my cousin's house, playing with a certain dog named Tiger. He has a tendancy of waking you up at 8am with his tongue and whimpering in your ear. thats what i get for sleeping in the living room. everyone has vacated the residence off on shopping expeditions, and i am sitting around doing who knows what. I went swimming at the local ymca yesterday, which was quite embarressing. There were three open lanes, one labelled fast, one medium, and one slow. There is no tom foolery with this swimming pool. After months of inactivity, four laps had my heart beat visible via chest, my breathing rapid, and my knees aching. I took a breather at the end of the lane, when an old woman swam up.
"You can go on ahead." i tell her (hiding my physical ineptness with politeness)
"its alright, you're faster, go right ahead."
damn. was she mocking me? i had to go to not let her show me up. You must know though, that i had not gone swimming in the past four years, and i had forgotten most if not all swimming technique. Towards the end, my right hamstring was seizing up and i was swimming with three limbs. Afterwards at the showers there was a line of old naked people. One of them was sitting on a chair apparently sleeping. Bad. It was bad. I felt like throwing up...but that was because i was hungry.
The best part of christmas was not the presents, but the loving.
next on the list, new years? perhaps.
