Scientology

I should probably friends lock this, apparently there's a crack team of lawyers that they employ to take down bad press on the internet. (I make no gaurantees that any of these links will stay valid :p)

I was approached today on Grafton St, by a man and a woman who were giving free personality tests, I knew they were scientologists immediately but I was kinda interested in seeing what they would say, so i feigned interest. They ask 200 questions (not all there, smaller one at first meeting then they tell you were to go for the full one), all of which are very vague, and then procede to tell you that your "answers indicate severe underlying mental problems which will only get worse"... ummm.... right. :p

Of course... "don't worry though, we can help, the Church of Scientology employs advanced scientifically proven methods to allow people find the root of their problem and confront it head on. You interested?" I figured then that i'd reached the last point of unobstructed out so I left after saying I had no money.

So today I spent the whole day researching Scientology completely, having heard of them before I knew not to give them any money or personal details (I lied on the questionaire) but I can see how someone who had never heard of them before could be led to believe that Scientology could possibly help them.

For those that are interested these are the links to stuff I've read today. Some of it's pretty harrowing stuff, and three articles from ireland for good measure (their church is in Abbey St).
