I seem to have forgotten this page for over three years....
A lot has happened in three years.
Three years...I keep replaying that span of time in my mind.
No real way to play catch up or simply blame FB, but now at 3:14AM early Tuesday morning, I'm making a semi-reolute commitment to return to this journal.
I'm not sure why I'm awake given Art Walk this past weekend and the lead up to it, but here's a check list of what's happening now
And by Now, I mean in this moment
- Listening to the police scanner from Baltimore about burning cars, breakins and people with bad hearts
- Filling out my log book from lasts week's RADIO UNDERGROUND//LOS ANGELES net which I started back in July last year
- Amazed that it's turned into a Thing that more and more people are joining and care about
- That ham radio is more relavent now than it's ever been and when I made my last post here I couldn't have cared less about it
- Finding a way to get deployed to help in Nepal
- Knowing I should get to bed since tomorrow is printing day for the works I was hired to do for a movie
- Also amazed that these works are in many ways 'prophetic' about this nation and the whole thing landed in my lap already preconcieved
- And that if I am going to use this page again, it's to write uncensored and this may be the only place I do that
- Questioning why that is
But I'll end with this....
"That said, my greater source of personal concern, outrage and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the U.S. to third-world dictatorships like China and others, plunged tens of millions of good hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state."
