Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
This is going to be a short one, because, goddamn do I suck at this game. My first MGS game, I was impressed by the graphics, music, voice acting, polish, presentation... pretty much everything. A well put-together game, as I imagine most of the series is (or at least appears). With the rental purpose of schooling up on Snake before the release of Brawl, I think I got a solid (LOLPUN) taste of the franchise's feel and style. Snake's personality makes him a great fit for Smash, regardless of how people doubted it. I might try to put in another significant gameplay burst before returning this one...
Pikmin
Really fun, but holy crap is the AI terrible. I grow tired of constantly having to backtrack to pick up lost Pikmin and reunite them with the group. They're better at getting lost than the mercenaries in Diablo 2, and ironically, better at staying alive. Don't even consider crossing a bridge suspended over water without losing half of your army.
The graphics are astonishingly good (a trend with early Gamecube games) and the storyline and dialogue are fun to read. This is one of those games that serves as a great foundation for a sequel - and I'll see how they build off of that once I finish this one and the next game comes around.
Next time...
I'm not even sure what's on my list next from GameFly, so... it'll be a surprise! Oh, and HTML sux.
