Snake Joins the Brawl!
A step-by-step analysis of our fourth Brawl trailer because it got me so hyped I couldn't get back to sleep:
- After the briefing, the first thing they show Snake doing is getting up from the ground, pulsing with electricity, he says "Kept you waiting, huh?". Return of entrances???
- Snake then appears to whip out a detonator and cause an explosion. More on this later...
- Some kind of wild aerial combo. Looks like it might be a multi-hitting "nair", possibly linked into an "uair" at the end.
- His forward special being fired.
- His two-punch roundhouse combination. Probably A-A-A.
- BRAWLOGO.
- Snake and Mario idle, followed by the cliché cataclysmic dash into battle.
- Mario dashes into Snake, who, I believe, grabs him and performs a back throw. Mario takes this into a "dair", and Snake returns with his forward tilt, which appears to a two-hitter.
- Catch the end of a Mario "nair", moving into an up tilt. Snake hits with some sort of aerial and performs his infamous two-punch roundhouse.
- Snake performing his up special move.
- Snake planting a mine. This is all assumption, but I think that this is his down special. Using his down special a second time, as shown near the beginning of the trailer, will pull out the detonator and set off the bomb.
- Mario lifting the infamous cardboard box off of a hiding Snake. Looking at the actions of things, I think the box is actually an item.
- Snake with Mario in a grab, first using a grab attack (which is a choke hold) and then using his down throw, which is a sleeper hold.
- Snake using the Homerun Bat on a poor Mr. Saturn throw by Bowser.
- Snake tossing a grenade at Wario, who appears to eat it. I'm thinking Wario's standard special will be the gigantic bite attack we've seen frequently with multiple effects; like Otacon explained in the Wario clip, apparently it can inflict some kind of garlic status effect on anyone hit by it. It also appears to allow Wario to eat certain projectiles.
- Not much left, Snake crawling (wtf is the purpose of crawling?!) across Smashville, and dashing across Eldin Bridge.
- Finally, Snake at a paced walk through Shadow Moses, getting caught by the spotlight, and then flying away with his up special.
