Month from Hell... finally concluding?
A quick recap:
- my pap has a stroke and is hospitalized, later sent to a recovery center and does quite well. Develops an infection and is re-hospitalized. Chooses to stop dialysis and eventually passes. The funeral and cleaning out of the house is later in the week.
- the weekend afterwards we get the kids. Sunday, we wake up to the water heater nearly flooding the basement. Hourly clean-up with a super vac is required.
- Sunday night before going to sleep, I go downstairs to do one final clean-up. On my way through the living room I hear a dripping. Sure enough, water is leaking from the ceiling (???), hitting the running ceiling fan and spraying across the room. I shut the water off.
- the next day, Home Depot sends someone to replace the water heater, and luckily does the job of fixing the pipe in the ceiling for 100 bucks. Leaves a hole in the ceiling.
- Thursday, insurance sends over a restoration company who leave an incredibly noisy fan and industrial strength dehumidifier (OVERKILL) in our living room. The power shorts out, I have a pretty horrible day and end up cranky.
- Friday they remove everything and don't even survey the damage. We go to pick up the kids. That night, after dinner I develop a severe dizzy spell and can barely walk.
- throughout the weekend and week I feel relatively poor. Thursday another severe dizzy spell strikes me. Afterwards I feel on and off better. Speculations point towards it being sinuses, dehydration, fumes from the air conditioner, something I ate, eye strain, or an inner ear infection (whee!).
- which brings us to today. As said, I feel on and off better. Depends on where I am and what I'm doing. If another severe spell strikes me I plan on seeing the doctor and, regardless, getting an eye exam once it's convenient. I honestly haven't in almost 7 years, and I admit it's catching up to me. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do a whole lot aside from a bunch of gaming. I did manage to finally build the MegaGirl section for my site, although it's still incomplete. I also - after much strain over getting a beginning in SD - decided to pick up the Kirby Matrix 4 concept and run with it, which is what I'm currently tinkering over. I also have a face paint gig at some point this week (hope I'm feeling better for it...) and am considering taking a part-time job at the same store.
