dreams of hockey
wow. i havent realized just how much i've been missing hockey until i got to watch a preseason game between the bruins and the rangers. holy crap. i even almost typed preseason "match". i may have been tennisified, but i know where my roots are.
the new rules are so weird. two-line passing? shootouts? insanely strict refs? whats the deal? i dont know where i stand on liking or hating them. its just kinda foreign to me. and i also have to get used to the millions of players that switched to other teams.
i am such a jock. i go to a football game on friday, i play tennis on saturday, and on sunday i watch a tennis match followed by a hockey game. good grief.
speaking of the tennis match i watched yesterday, it was surely a great one. scruffy andy roddick vs. a suprisingly goodlooking ollie rochus who finally got a shave. it was so damn close. the first 3 sets were all tiebreakers. it ended up going innto 5 sets. it was such a long match. over 4 hours. longest in davis cup history since the intro of the tiebreak. and lemme tell ya, they were soooo tired. i was like, okay, you guys can stop now! in the end, the match went to roddick because of a horrible call on olivier, and i felt so bad. but andy looked so happy. andy's win meant usa def. belgium 3-1. the bryan twins won against ollie and someone else, ollie beat blake, and andy beat ollie and his brother christophe. i should send andy a shirt that says "handy andy" for his good efforts this round.
back to hockey. rangers won 4-2, which i really could care less about. what i really care about is the rangers/devils game on tuesday. it doesnt really matter who wins, because its a preseason game, but i cant wait to see mr marty b stop those pucks like no tomorrow. and i cant really tell who stayed on the team and who didnt so i guess we'll see. i really hope elias is till there. he's my favorite.
and all night long i couldnt stop dreaming of hockey. it was really creepy. but hey, some pretty great plays were wheeling around in my head. maybe id be a good coach.
