Brave
So.. I went to go see Brave on Tuesday. Mostly because I was bored out of my skull and it was matinee pricing.
It was... Pretty good.
The best way to describe it would be 'Pixar makes a Disney Princess film', with all that implies.
The plot is a bit weak, the characters aren't terribly engaging, and it just lacks 'substance'. At least there wasn't (much) singing.
That being said, it's a *gorgeous* film, with stunning scenery - entire lush forests, all cunningly rendered in CGI. There are some genuinely funny moments, including a few cheap sight gags for giggles.
Overall, it does seem to be aimed at the tween market, the girls who are just feeling the first teenage chafings of 'my mom is ruining my life'.
