Surgery (2 of 2)
This is part 2 of 2. Be sure you scroll down and read my other entry about how my weekend was.
This is just a small post about my surgery i had today.
First off this surgery wasn't spossed to happen till thursday of this week but i ended up getting moved forward, so i missed class today and might miss it tommorow depending on how i feel. I will besure to get my shit caught up though just in case.
Alright on to how the surgery was and why it was done.
The why. In case you didn't know my lips were swown together because i had a surgery on them a few weeks ago to help improve my upper lip and to fix my nose or make it look better. So after that surgery i had to have my lips together for a while so i could get blood flow to my upper lip and make it better. So after it had been a sufficent time, they were going to be split. Which is what they did today. As for explaining exactly how they did it i don't know but i can tell you it hurt like hell when i woke up and it does look alot better but feels really weird being able to open my mouth now.
Now for how my day actually went, first i couldn't eat anything since 12 last night as is the general rule the day before a surgury. So i had trouble getting to sleep till about 3 am and i had to be up at 8, my first mistake and the first problem. After i woke up i took a shower and me and my dad made the trip down to the hospital. There i got into the pre-op and waited like an hour and a half for them to get all their shit together for me to be able to go into surgery. That stuff took forever and was annoying as hell.
The entire surgery only took about an hour from 11am to 12pm. Weirdly i didn't even come too till about 1pm, and when i did i was in a lot of pain. The got me some pain meds which brought down the pain level to about a 5 out of 10. But they told me for in order me to get more pain meds through my iv, i would need to stay the night at the hospital. I decided that the pain was worth not staying the night and i ended up getting some pain meds from the pharamcy which help alot. So i got home at about 4 after sitting around and finally comming too.
Now i'm just trying to get all the anasteia(SP?) out of my body which still makes me sick. Also i am back onto the schedual that i was after the first surgery, i will be taking anibiotics every 6 hours and pain meds every 4 hours. So no more sleeping through the night YIPPE!
Lastly here are some pics you can enjoy how i look, this is about an hour after i got home so i'm still really swollen and i might take some more pics after this.
