driving
i went for my first drive yesterday ... just a short distance to the store for some needed things and ice cream ... getting there was a slight chore, still painful the hip is ... i enjoyed getting out, even with the usual idiots on the road ... took my time, watching the leaves and trees in a good strong wind and keeping an eye out for silly drivers i would have to avoid ... only found a few of the things i wanted and had to go to another store, right around the corner at least ... after shopping i discovered i had stiffened up somewhat and getting back in the car was a trip! ... managed that and back home safely ... all in all a good test of getting myself around w/o too much trouble ... this frees me to go to the places i need to w/o having to inconvenience a good friend ... still, it was but a tease ... i want to travel for hours and hours !!! -always loved to drive- but still at least a week away from being able to drive more than a few miles, 25 at the most i would imagine right now ... that puts New Haven within easy reach 8^)
