I was cruising cnn.com today and came upon this headline:
(SPACE.com) -- NASA briefed senior White House officials Wednesday on its plan to spend $100 billion and the next 12 years building the spacecraft and rockets it needs to put humans back on the Moon by 2018.
This is why NASA sucks, I mean back in the early sixties when Kennedy said that we would put a man on the moon by the end of the decade, well we did...but now NASA seems less ambitious, saying 'oh well, hell, i think if we had 100 billion dollars and 13 years we could do something thats been done before.' Im not sure whats going on, maybe its politics fucking with what NASA focuses on or something, but when the average guy like me reads that it is going to take 13 years to get back to the moon, and that the last shuttle mission was "lucky" that the foam didnt cause it to explode also, well it makes me remember that politics often kill noble endeavors.
