I woke up from a nightmare early this morning, and I don't think I was able to get back to sleep. It really shook me.
I dreamt that I was in a house, but it wasn't quite my house. I think it was like a Bed & Breakfast or an Air B&B. It was late at night, and the windows were open. I think there had been a party, and I might have had some wine. My phone rang, and some man was on the other line, trying to sound all threatening, but I could also hear his actual phone not on the phone. I was not going to be intimidated, and I was like, "You know I can hear you, right?" He tried using one of those voice modulators, telling me he was going to get me, and I tried bluffing him, asking him what he was going to do with all of my friends here with me. I was still not going to be scared by this.
I remember setting my phone down by the bed, and suddenly, this old white guy, a cross between James Cromwell (who was in the latest Jurassic Park movie that I saw this weekend) and the admiral from Star Trek: Insurrection (which we just watched last night) was straddling me, shirtless, telling me he was going to shove his dick in me. I think he was supposed to be someone else staying at the place, or the owner. I was trying to fight him off and scream "NO!" but it was having trouble coming out, and he was holding at least one of my hands in his. I just started getting so fucking mad. And scared. I was able to take his lower jaw in my left hand, and I just started squeezing with all the rage in my body. It felt like his lower jaw was shrinking, but I kept squeezing. He stopped trying to attack me, because he became paralyzed by the pain. Maybe he had abscessed teeth or dental issues, but I woke up just before his jaw bone was going to crumple in my hand.
I'm a pescatarian, and I really try to minimize my contributions to the killing of other living beings. I rarely ever even have seafood. So killing another being, especially with my bare hands, and having to fight for my life - that's super jarring to me. I have been rattled all morning. I got up and took a shower when my alarm went off, and as I was in the shower, Ray got up and came into the bathroom, and that spooked me, because I wasn't expecting him to be up at that time.
So I am definitely rattled. And let me just say for the record, old white men, you are NOT my type.
