I think Neil Young is kinda whiny. Brilliant... but whiny nevertheless.
And I'm embarrassed to admit that I recently mistook Bono for Bowie.
The first was a duet between Bono and Leonard Cohen that I'd never heard before. Bono wasn't belting it out like he can, so it just really wasn't apparent to me that it was him. Boy did he ever sound like Bowie to me, though. (*hides*)
Then, several days later, I heard a U2 song I didn't recognize. I tried to see if I could find the Bowie in Bono's voice and there it was again, until he started belting it out, at which point, it became obvious who it was.
Very, very strange.
