We woke up bright and early
to be out the door and in an Autoshare car by 10am to drive to north Richmond Hill for a nursing photo session with
EyeAm Photography. Free photo session and two free 5x7s as a result of my crappy nursing photo experience back in November, trying to do nursing shots.
Busted ass to get the car back by 1pm, made it right on time; next person in line for car waiting ever so patiently.
optimystik trekked with his backpacking backpack full of books + large bundle buggy filled with car seat, empty bucket for compost, crate of Household Hazardous Waste, and Xerox box of e-Waste to the Barns for
Environment Days; I took the Smallest home to get changed, get milk, get food, and get stroller.
met up with N at Barns and got rid of everything we wanted to get rid of; he got the Very Last Bucket of compost, which he scraped up with his bare hands (I had the toy shovels, but I hadn't arrived at that point). The Smallest fell asleep on the way to the park.
N and I had a small picnic, then I called
misslynx to figure out when would be best for her to come by and pick up the boy so that N and I could work in the yard (photos soon).
L took A to the ravine, where there was much exploration and an adventure with a mud puddle. N and I worked our ASSES off in the side yard. We got two hours yesterday and three and a half today. Got about a 4x8 rectangle sifted, composted, seeded and outlined with brick. The Property Manager dropped by unexpectedly and saw us actually working. Good news: we're likely getting a chain-link fence (butt-ugly, but will let light through). Bad news: we probably won't get any sort of reimbursement because we have no receipts. I am generally annoyed with myself and N for not thinking of this. And for some reason as yet untold, we probably won't get reimbursed for car rental to get the bricks which we're using. We have records of this, but the PM said he wouldn't be able to reimburse us for that "Which is a shame," he says. Methinks I smell a rat. Why wouldn't he be able to reimburse us for that, particularly since we took photos of the trunk full of bricks at various stages of loading and unloading? maybe if he sees the photographic evidence, he'll change his mind...
Finally washed diapers for the first time in three weeks. We'd been going through them at a rate of about 3 per week and then the Smallest started teething again, which meant signalling and timing disappeared completely and utterly and in two days' time, we'd gone through the rest of the diapers + some of the back up, crappy training pants. oops. But done now.
Unfortunate result of bad diaper-washing timing: diapers drying in dryer downstairs. Bare-butt boy. puddle on bed. 9:45pm *head desk*
yesterday was market, mistakenly hauling items for donation on the wrong day (ugh and so full of guilt since N hauled it all), nap time for 1 of the 3 of us who needed it, working for two or so hours in the yard preparing the garden bed, making dinner, giving the boy and his mama a bath, and N using the latchhook on my dreads to get the fuzzy top-head hairs tucked in before photos this morning.
I.
Am.
Exhausted.
Oh, and I think my eye strain is due to lack of sleep. Longer sleep = less eye strain. I have old prescription glasses that are -.25 and they help BUT it's because they make everything a bit fuzzy so that my eyes can go unfocussed more easily. I see more detail without them, but it hurts to see so much. For every day this week, I want a nap on top of A's regular nap time, which I need for some me-time. (har har)
Also, the kitchen is a total disaster with nary a clean dish, I'm behind on all my email, and we have no bread because I haven't baked any for DAYS.
How was your weekend?
