N ended up working from home today because I was still too physically weakened from this weekend's bout of digestive upset. I was able to make it to A's dr. appointment, but not strong enough to take him by myself to my former place of employment for a visit. N couldn't come with me because he had lots of work to do, so we just went home after A's check-up.
Creepy moment of the day: I'd been looking at an herbalism book I have. It's big and hardcover with lots of colour photos in it of different plants. I was randomly flipping through and pointing to different plants, trying to get A's attention. He kept shaking his head 'no'. Hmm, ok. And then he takes over, flips to a seemingly random page and points to the one photo on the page: a pile of ground Slippery Elm Bark. Under the photo is a description: a "...well-known digestive remedy, soothing and particularly suitable for sensitive or convalescent digestion."
Um...
Ok.
I see your point and raise you a WTF, Mr. Wizard?
He seemed satisfied that he had done his job, so he went about trying to mangle the book and then, when I wouldn't allow that, he went after his blocks. And then I went after the Slippery Elm lozenges I had in the bathroom. Good for sore throats and (pregnancy-induced) indigestion. And apparently sensitive and convalescent digestion, as well.
My stomach was, indeed, much better off for having taken the lozenges. The whole episode seems even creepier (in a good way, I guess) now that I've written it out. *shaking head* weirdness...
Oh, and I was totally right on about the PMS. I traded my stomach cramps for uterine cramps and, lo, I am now bleeding like a stuck pig. Oh joy, oh rapture. Tomorrow will be so much fun, what with all the lower back pain, the lower front pain, and the exhaustion. Just what I need on the heels of a day and a half of the big, messy D (yeah, that kicked in sometime midday Sunday).
Fun city, folks. Fun City.
