[links] making rope + bull's eye diet

Jul 01, 2007 19:07

from Instructables:
Make rope out of dead plants -- with no tools

Reuse old printer ribbons and video tape to make rope!

from Casaubon's Book:
The Bull's Eye Diet
Premise: 'instead of one 100 mile (or 200 mile or whatever) diet, we think in terms of a bulls eye model, which emphasizes bringing as much of your diet as possible home to your local area.

This would look like a dart board, with a bullseye in the center. That center dot would be your home. And the first question is "how much of my food can I produce here."'

Oh to be able to container garden!!! I so wish I could start growing my own food. I am increasingly envious of people who have balconies and/or yards where they can grow food!

There are even suggestions in this blog entry on how to get around neighbourhood zoning restrictions for growing things in the front yard.
