If anyone local is interested, my job as administrative assistant at the
CCFC is now posted on Charity Village. Details here:
http://www.charityvillage.com/applicant/jobs.asp?fn=view&g_varID=83233 It's a one-year, half-time, parental leave replacement starting June 4th. The deadline for resumes is May 4th. Please do NOT send resumes electronically. Send them via snail mail, courier, or drop them off in-person.
half-time position of 18hrs/week
good pay, but no benefits
located at Yonge & St. Clair (across from Sobey's, to be more precise)
a nearly all-female work environment but without the typical backstabbing and rumour-mongering; no headgames -- how refreshing!
for the most part, the people there are very open and easy to be around
a successful applicant must (in addition to the details outlined in the job posting) be anal-retentive/detail-oriented and laid-back/easy-going
precious little phone duties (a bonus for phone phobes like myself)
tasks can be described as tedious, mind-numbing, monotonous, and repetitive. Some freaks like me find that sort of work gratifying. Hopefully, someone else will, too.
also, the supervisor (job contact person) is possibly the sweetest, most hard-working, genuine person I've ever known. A dream to work with.
I really like my job. It's possibly the only paying job I've ever really liked. I enjoy the people, the location, and the work itself, and I can't help but feel a little sad about taking leave. I hope that whoever ends up replacing me while I'm doing the baby/mom thing is cool and takes good care of my supervisor.
