Not so typical day...

I've decided that today's date is cursed. Normally I don't have such a pessimistic outlook on things, but this time, I believe I am correct. It has been exactly two years since my husband passed, taken by an illness no doctor in this town could cure. I placed flowers on his grave and said the required prayers. Today is also my brother's birthday. He was a devil, though I'm not quite sure that should be in the past tense. I sent him a letter, though I didn't know exactly what to say--I usually don't when it involves him.

I will go into town later today and make sure things are running smoothly. It is the time of year when we receive the most tourists so I must ensure that the village hunters have taken care of the more dangerous monsters along the path from the port. As much as I dislike killing things, it is for the best of Keterberg. We can use their meat and by keeping the path safe, we will attract more visitors.

But then, as I opened the door to my house, everything looked different. I went back into the house and retrieved a few items (including this diary) and then the house itself disappeared!

I am standing now in a place I do not recognize. There isn't any snow on the ground and the weather is definitely too warm to be towards the end of the year--even for Keterberg. I also don't recognize any of the architecture...

What has happened? Is this death? I will follow the path in front of me and hope it leads to somewhere--or someone--who will be able to help.
