cleo's got more to consider. don't get me wrong, boycotting is a useful thing. i just don't want to help the antisemites, y'know?

I've seen that argument, but I just don't understand it. If there are idiots out there who hate SUP because they're Jewish*, that doesn't mean our concerns with SUP are any less valid. The Content Strike is based on the policies and public words of SUP. In Novik's interview, he referenced the "tantrum" "freeloaders" were throwing based on SUP's new policies. He didn't say it had anything to do with people hating Jews. He said it was based on the loss of Basic Accounts (although of course it's also to do with the terrible filtering system they put on Popular Interests). And that's exactly why we're doing this.

*I've seen one person, but chopchica says the antisemites are Russian, soooo I wouldn't really see their posts, now would I?

Ahh, so I went back to chopchica's original post, here, and it actually says,
"- I am not saying that people shouldn't strike.
- I am not saying it is silly to hate SUP just because it is a target of antisemitism
- I am not saying that if you strike you are an antisemite or letting the antisemites win.
- What I *am* saying is that I believe in informed opinions, and that the enemy of your enemy isn't always your friend - even though on the surface it may look that way."

So, ok, *she's* not even counseling us not to strike. Cool.

It's not like we'll have much time for the interwebs tomorrow anyway, thanks to our FOEcakes competition and Kinetic. Such fun we shall have!

Sigh. I will miss all the fun for being in ft wayne for easter weekend. But- I rarely use the computer when I'm there- too busy slacking and playing games with the sibs. So it will be very easy to avoid the lj.

Oh my goodness, I totally forgot about Easter. That explains why tomorrow is Good Friday, I guess...heh.
