So, the snow arrived as promised. Left work at 4pm - and then spent 1hr and 5 mins sitting on a train outside Reading station - an exciting new personal record. And it wasn't even to do with the snow - the train lost air pressure and was unable to operate its brakes, which left us clamped to the tracks until an engineer came along to fix it.
Since then I have spent half an hour digging my car out of the snow so I can use it tomorrow, had a burst of civic responsibility and cleared the pavement for a hundred yards or so with my handy snow shovel (see
jwaneeta? I bought one) and put seed out in my bird feeder, and on a cleared patch on the ground.
There's an interesting burning sensation in my lower back, so I may regret all this tomorrow.
