Does it count as a snow day if I didn't have to go to work anyway?
We got about eleven inches, though a lot has already melted; here's a picture of my back deck:
The sidewalk is shoveled, my car is brushed off, though there's enough snow around it still to make it interesting tomorrow morning when I try to get out of here for work. I have many, many things to do today, luckily all of them indoors, yet I've spent the last five hours reading and writing fanfiction. There are worse pursuits, I suppose.
So a friend landed tickets to the Maryland/Duke game yesterday, and that made me happy--only then we lost, which made me not so happy. But we played pretty well, I thought--Duke's a better team right now (yes, the sound you hear is my teeth grinding), so I can't fault MD's play. We made fewer boneheaded plays than usual, anyway. And the game was a load of fun--we were way up in the upper deck, a million miles away, but it was still completely crazy.
And as I told the two loud and obnoxious Duke fans behind us, I suppose it's nice for Duke to actually be able to beat us once in a while *g*.
