"Sick" Day
Woke up a bit before 7 this morning, noticed the sun hadn't even risen (which brought a twinge of sympathy for those who had to be up and moving hours earlier...), felt the pre-winter chill of cold wooden floorboards under my feet, and decided today was a sickday. So, instead of driving for an hour and wandering around campus in the cold, I emailed various professors, took a hot shower, and I've been snuggled in flannel pajamas and a cozy chair by the window ever since. The result? Probably a far more productive day than it would have been otherwise. I've gotten ahead on a small essay that isn't due for a week, gotten another small chunk of my thesis paper ready to be typed up and sent, and had the privilege of being home to witness one my favourite DS9 episodes. A day alone in the house is a Good Thing -- and I didn't even know I'd be alone when I decided to stay here. :)
