They'd probably send me a form "thank you for your input" response and maybe a coupon. Which I probably wouldn't use.

I went into an H&M. Once. Back when I was a 16/18 at any other store. I had to ask to go into a dressing room. The attendant said to me, "I'm not sure our pants are going to fit you." She was right. I never went back.

As far as LB goes... yes, they can be expensive, but the clothes do last and wear very well. A lot of their tops are weird, but that's what Old Navy is for. The deal with LB is you just absolutely have to have coupons. And if you get on their email list, you'll get them. You can also do searches for random ones (thus the 50% off one I used the other night). But they send out this gift card thingy quarterly (or so) that gives you $X back on a purchase of $X. If you go to the store they let you combine coupons (sadly not online). And they are adding (or have added?) Size 12 for a lot of their clothes. So there might still be hope for you at LB...

Yeah, they're coastal only at this point. Lemme sum up... trendy, not as gawdawful trendy fugly like Urban Outfitters, clothes for hipsters and suits and I bought my first suit from them for $60. Total.

Wait--what? Upcoming wedding? One you're going to, not one you're having, right?

Also, yeah, clothing stores suck. And here in oh-so-fit New England, we don't even have stores with clothes that fit big people. Not good ones, anyway. Fashion sizes or kmart, baby.

Me? Married? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

While I suppose Meigh and I could have a commitment or handfasting ceremony or whatever in the future, we'd have to get past my terror of committing to anything ever first.

(And that's about how it is in DC too. Well, Lane Bryant. But I don't want to spend $50 on a button down shirt, no matter how nice it is.)

I, too, dislike Lane Bryant. The pants are mostly too short for me and most of the stuff isn't all that flattering for younger women (IMHO) I found a new store called Torrid, which has fun clothes for fairly cheap. I have yet to try on the clothes, but they're cute.

Torrid's great but exists only in the suburbs out here. What good's a cute plus size store if you have to drive an hour to get to it?
