Good morning, starshine!

An update!

Ushered in the new year with a small get together of some friends at home, since we all wanted something fun but low key. Since it was my only chance to catch up with mareska while she was here and I had a headcold, going out to a loud expensive bar didn't seem right. So stentoriansista broke in our fondue pot and I pulled my aunt's out of the communal storage and we had cheese and chocolate fondue for everyone! For ingredients, supplemental hors d'oeuvres and wine, it ended up being about the same as a trip to the bar for us, but a lot more fun, didn't have to deal with trying to find a cab at 3am in the 28 degrees with ice.

So, new year, new decade, new monkeys. Here's shit I'd like to do in 2010.
Run a 5K - probably one in April.
Get my driver's license - This is totally going to happen. I'm taking a half day in January or February and we're going to the DMV. Period.
Run a half marathon - This may be pushing it, but it's possible for the fall.
Save save save - hoping to buy a house in July. Getting married next spring. EXPENSIVE. AUGH LOOK AWAY, LOOK AWAY.
Cook more - I know, I know, I talk all the time about how much of a chef I am. Truthfully? I like cooking big extravagant things, like caramelizing onions in the crockpot or making my own bread. I hate to cook quick dinners. But I should, because take out is expensive and not good for you.
Finish my 365 project - I'm on 80some and I'll finish unless my camera breaks again or something. But I want to take good pictures and not just late night 'oh crap, I forgot' photos. And my love of taking candid shots ends up with unusable pictures.
Rock the Can Jam This month's challenge is citrus. YAY.
Wedding Shit - figure out a budget, book a venue, find a caterer, find a dress, you know, the drudge stuff. I'll leave the colors and decorating to stentoriansista, who'll enjoy it more.

And the usual - floss, get more sleep, be more romantic, get more involved with my deities.

The new day is a great big fish.

easy to make easy to break
