*gasp* After several nights where I stayed up far longer than I needed to because I was filling out this meme, I'm finally done! And I am more proud than I thought I would be about it. This was really fun to brainstorm ideas for, and morriganfearn is awesome for having come up with it.

What would 2 and 6 be like in a relationship?
Finland and China.
...uuuuuuh. China would probably think Finland was seriously cool, at the very least because of his blond hair and purple/blue-eyed-ness. Headcanon says that China would also absolutely love Finland's natural beauty, and Wikipedia says the two countries are working together on environmental protection. And his reindeer! China wouldn't be able to resist the cute reindeer. I think the relationship would be kind of one-sided, though. I can't really see Finland viewing a relationship with China as anything more than one of economic convenience. He'd probably get fed up with China's fondness for simply ignoring things he doesn't want to deal with. I'd also say their relations with Russia would play a role, but I'm not familiar enough with the historical and current relations between them to say how.
1 and 13. Totally crack or totally canon? (Remember, with Hetalia there is history-cannon and Hetalia-cannon. Explain for both, please)
Sweden and Norway.
Yeah, no, not at all crack. Union between Sweden and Norway? Yup.
Hetalia-canon wise, there's not much canon evidence for it, but it's definitely not a crack pairing either because of the historical canon.
Would 10 make a good couple with 11? Or a better couple with 13?
Poland/Lithuania vs. Poland/Norway
...okay, I swear that I didn't place nations in this order on purpose, even if I didn't use a random number generator. But I mean, considering the success of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the fact that the two do seem to genuinely care for each other in Hetalia-canon, I'd say they make a pretty good couple. Despite the chapters in their shared history when they were being less than pleasant to each other. Then again, this is ignoring modern-day relations.
Poland and Norway, on the other hand, would probably suck as a couple. I have no idea about any historical relations between the two, but going by their canon personalities, Poland would irritate the heck out of Norway within a few minutes. Then again, Poland's personality is a tiny bit like Denmark's--talks too much, kind of air-headed, kind of inconsiderate--maybe it would work better than expected.
Is there any evidence for 12/3? (Again, both cannon and history-cannon are fair game)

Hm...only justification I can possibly think of linking them would be one of huge European wars (like, Napoleonic or Thirty Years' or something like that), which I am too lazy to research right now. And even then Switzerland would only be participating as mercenary forces, right? Assuming the war isn't occurring after the law forbidding the Swiss fighting in a foreign army. (As anyone with any Euro history knowledge can see from reading this, my knowledge of dates and Euro history in general is crap.)

Eh. I don't really think so. Finland probably takes his fishing pretty seriously, and fishing's apparently pretty important to Vietnam. Her character's not very developed, but she seems to be pretty serious and she doesn't really strike me as impulsive or open enough to want "distractions."
What's a romantic night for 9?

(Augh, idk enough about Vietnam!) First off, it's better if you don't buy her flowers. Flowers are extravagant, and too many of them remind her of things she'd rather not be reminded of on a romantic night. Keeping that in mind, don't take her to an overly fancy restaurant. She's a very down-to-earth person and won't enjoy it as much as going to a smaller, cozier place. Take her on the date with the expectation of paying for her, but don't press when she insists on paying for herself. Focus on comfort and fun for her, rather than trying to impress her. It'll go further.
6 and 3 go on a date. Is it a loving one, did someone put them up to it, are they more clueless than Spain?

...okay, I would really like to see a story about that pairing now.
As for how it happened, they were probably set up for a blind date. Probably by Korea and Liechtenstein both deciding that their brothers needed more action and conveniently happening upon each other to realize they could kill two birds with one stone. Both would probably be kind of awkward about it, but Switzerland probably more so than China. China, being China, would insist on paying for the date. (Chinese people fight over who gets to pay the bill.) Perhaps that's how he wins Switzerland?

Okay, so the only way I envision this pairing really working is pure lust, perhaps with some rage or something like that to help it along. Belarus makes fun of Turkey's name one time too many over dinner as they're waiting for dessert, which causes Turkey to snap, which somehow leads to epic passionate sex. No food is involved, but the knives on the table get put to use.

Meanwhile Matthias finally realizes how much Bela meant to him and decides to do something with his life. He takes up stunt flying. To distract himself from thinking about her, he starts doing more and more dangerous tricks until a catastrophic crash lands him in the hospital. When Bela hears of this, she can't quite bring herself to not care...
Crap, I kind of want to write that now. But I definitely couldn't pull such a story off. (The characters are also probably horribly OOC in that summary.)

Title: Chaotic Neutral
Switzerland and Sweden keep on getting mixed up by people. Sweden, in a playful mood one day, jokingly suggests that they switch places for a few days. Switzerland, surprisingly, agrees. But they are in for far more than they bargained for when the neutral and formerly neutral countries start disappearing one by one, in reverse order of their declared neutrality, starting with Ukraine. Together in a race against time, they seek to protect the ones they love and to find out what is going on. Unexpected help comes from Poland, who was just starting to pursue a relationship with Ukraine.

Toris is a simple homesteader. All he wants is to claim a small plot of land and farm in peace--it's all he's dreamed of since he left Lithuania for the US. No, actually, no, this is perfect. Here, have some extreme history fail:
She is a thing of beauty, is China's first thought when he sees her.
Vietnam is proud, strong, graceful. As a man China wants nothing more than to win her affection; as a nation he longs to possess her. But she remains forever at the edge of his control, dancing just out of his reach.
Years pass; the dance floor shrinks. The entire world weaves complicated steps with each other. Sometimes the dances are deadly.
Fate has thrown him together with her again and again in the past century. China is given the chance to possess her, once. He remembers her as she once was, independent and fierce, and shakes his head. He wants her to choose him willingly.
She dances away from him again after a few years. He strikes her, bitterness boiling in his heart.
He regrets it later, but doesn't let anyone know. It would be weak to be inconsistent.

Germany is young and vibrant and polite when he comes calling, and China is old and wracked with too many ailments to count. Germany is one kind word among a sea of harsh demands; China wants to feel young again. Cooperation is only natural.
They have their share of disagreements. Some are small. Some can only be settled with fists and guns. But Germany returns each time, and China never turns him away. At some point he acquires a new uniform. China wonders why a symbol from Indian temples adorns his sleeve and decides not to ask.
Sometimes their fingers brush together as Germany shows China a new plane design; sometimes his touch lingers a moment longer than necessary as he trains China to fight.
All this meant nothing, China thinks later as he stares at the tip of Japan's blade. Germany stands beside Japan. He has the decency to look away.

Finland has a relationship with England (...erm, okay), but secretly wants Vietnam (o_0 what?). England knows this, and breaks up with Finland to go pursue China, who's with Belarus. (Even if this pairing is kind of sort of appropriate for modern-day relations, I still can't quite wrap my brain around Hetalia-verse China/Belarus yet.) Vietnam is with Germany, however, who's cheating on Vietnam with Poland. (Germany has it in him to cheat? I always thought of him as the type of guy where the guilt would eat him up.) Poland finds out, and cheats with Norway (whut) who is, in turn, cheating on America (...what). Finland pursues Vietnam (...I need to find something more creative to say than "what"), who just broke up with Germany (good for you, Vietnam!), who is now after England. Finland gives up on this, and ends up with Sweden (HELLSYES), while England finally ends up with America. (Wow, all those kind of cracky rarepairs, and then the two final pairings are very much not cracky at all)
Prompt: Mini-fic 4 walking in on 10 and 3 performing, shall we say, "interesting" activities, and 4's reaction?

"Hey, Switzerland, Liechtenstein asked me to let you know that--what the bloody hell is going on in here?" England pinched himself just to make sure he wasn't dreaming, but after the pain had passed he still found himself staring at Switzerland aiming a rifle at a bound and gagged Poland propped against the wall.
"I warned him if he didn't shut up about his new shoes, I would use him for target practice," Switzerland said, sparing England a quick glance as he reloaded his gun. "Don't look so concerned, I'm using blanks. And tell Liechtenstein she can go over to Austria's place as long as Hungary is over too."
England looked at Poland again for a moment and then decided to nod and close the door behind him before going in search of Liechtenstein.

"Why are you staring at me?" Alfred stammered when he noticed that the Norwegian boy had been looking his way for several minutes, face as expressionless as ever. The sheer lack of emotion was creepy as hell, really, would it kill Lukas to move his facial muscles on occasion if he was going to stare at people? Even if the attention was quite flattering.
"I'm wondering how much more of an idiot you can be. You forgot to cover our plates."
"Oh crap," Alfred exclaimed, and ran to grab new plates, muttering something that sounded suspiciously like "Heroes don't do biology."

Matthias swung his axe over his shoulder, ready to go hit some bars after another worthwhile day of adventuring, when an artist on the side of the road caught his attention. The fighter wasn't sure what gave him the urge stop to examine the artist's works, but it wasn't like he had anything important to do--not that getting drunk and maybe laid wasn't important, but that was beside the point.
"Bonjour, adventurer," the artist called as Matthias strode over. "Come to examine my wares?"
Matthias grinned and nodded. "Yep! So what do you draw, anyway?"
The artist ran a hand through his shiny, long blond hair and smiled lazily. "Ah, many things, but I specialize in landscapes. Here is one I am particularly proud of." He reached into a bag behind him and pulled out a small framed picture. It depicted a charming patch of roses under an clear blue sky. He held the picture out.
Matthias took the picture and peered at it, only to feel, to his horror, that he was falling. At the same time he felt like he was being compressed, shrinking, and being stretched out as something pulled at him. His axe fell to the ground onto the pavement behind him, but already the street felt far away, a different world.
Within moments, he found himself in a field full of roses. In the sky he could still see the world he had been in only moments ago. The artist's face peered at him, and comprehension dawned in him as he took a closer look.
"You--you're--"
"Francis Bonnefoy, painter of worlds," the artist finished for him with calm smile as the image faded from the sky. "I do hope you enjoy your stay." The sky finished fading into a perfectly normal blue sky, leaving Matthias alone and weaponless in the strange new world.

Canon: ...does SuFin count? I feel like if GerIta and LietPol and AusHun count, then SuFin should too.
Historical canon: China/Ancient Rome? I need to explore whether that one actually is historically canon or not. (There's a village in China with lots of people with caucasian features said to be founded by a legion of lost Roman soldiers, but apparently DNA testing proved that wasn't the case.) Otherwise probably DenNor.
Okay, how about yaoi, yuri, and hetero? What are your feelings on that? And while you are at it, how do you like your uke/seme dynamic?
Man, ever since I discovered SuFin and yaoi I've had trouble formulating hetero pairs, but I love me some het smut too. Yuri is something I don't read much, at least in part because it's harder to come upon. As for uke/seme, I just wishe people didn't take ukification to such an extreme all the time. I mean, some SuFin doujins make Finland a quivering moeblob. It's disturbing.
If 14/12 became canon, how would you react?

Together in a race against time, they seek to protect the ones they love and to find out what is going on. Unexpected help comes from Poland, who was just starting to pursue a relationship with Ukraine.

Vietnam is proud, strong, graceful. As a man China wants nothing more than to win her affection; as a nation he longs to possess her. But she remains forever at the edge of his control, dancing just out of his reach.
Years pass; the dance floor shrinks. The entire world weaves complicated steps with each other. Sometimes the dances are deadly.
Fate has thrown him together with her again and again in the past century. China is given the chance to possess her, once. He remembers her as she once was, independent and fierce, and shakes his head. He wants her to choose him willingly.
She dances away from him again after a few years. He strikes her, bitterness boiling in his heart.
He regrets it later, but doesn't let anyone know. It would be weak to be inconsistent.

Germany is young and vibrant and polite when he comes calling, and China is old and wracked with too many ailments to count. Germany is one kind word among a sea of harsh demands; China wants to feel young again. Cooperation is only natural.

Finland has a relationship with England (...erm, okay), but secretly wants Vietnam (o_0 what?). England knows this, and breaks up with Finland to go pursue China, who's with Belarus. (Even if this pairing is kind of sort of appropriate for modern-day relations, I still can't quite wrap my brain around Hetalia-verse China/Belarus yet.) Vietnam is with Germany, however, who's cheating on Vietnam with Poland. (Germany has it in him to cheat? I always thought of him as the type of guy where the guilt would eat him up.) Poland finds out, and cheats with Norway (whut) who is, in turn, cheating on America (...what). Finland pursues Vietnam (...I need to find something more creative to say than "what"), who just broke up with Germany (good for you, Vietnam!), who is now after England. Finland gives up on this, and ends up with Sweden (HELLSYES), while England finally ends up with America. (Wow, all those kind of cracky rarepairs, and then the two final pairings are very much not cracky at all)

England pinched himself just to make sure he wasn't dreaming, but after the pain had passed he still found himself staring at Switzerland aiming a rifle at a bound and gagged Poland propped against the wall.
"I warned him if he didn't shut up about his new shoes, I would use him for target practice," Switzerland said, sparing England a quick glance as he reloaded his gun. "Don't look so concerned, I'm using blanks. And tell Liechtenstein she can go over to Austria's place as long as Hungary is over too."
England looked at Poland again for a moment and then decided to nod and close the door behind him before going in search of Liechtenstein.

Lukas Bondevik glared at his overly energetic biology lab partner, who had so far managed to contaminate their bacterial culture and spill bleach everywhere, and still had the nerve to hit on him. At least he had managed to shoot that hope to oblivion almost before it started.
"Why are you staring at me?" Alfred stammered when he noticed that the Norwegian boy had been looking his way for several minutes, face as expressionless as ever. The sheer lack of emotion was creepy as hell, really, would it kill Lukas to move his facial muscles on occasion if he was going to stare at people? Even if the attention was quite flattering.
"I'm wondering how much more of an idiot you can be. You forgot to cover our plates."
"Oh crap," Alfred exclaimed, and ran to grab new plates, muttering something that sounded suspiciously like "Heroes don't do biology."
"You could have just told me, you know," the American boy complained as he returned. "Are you sure you weren't just admiring my good looks?"

Matthias swung his axe over his shoulder, ready to go hit some bars after another worthwhile day of adventuring, when an artist on the side of the road caught his attention. The fighter wasn't sure what gave him the urge stop to examine the artist's works, but it wasn't like he had anything important to do--not that getting drunk and maybe laid wasn't important, but that was beside the point.
"Bonjour, adventurer," the artist called as Matthias strode over. "Come to examine my wares?"
Matthias grinned and nodded. "Yep! So what do you draw, anyway?"
The artist ran a hand through his shiny, long blond hair and smiled lazily. "Ah, many things, but I specialize in landscapes. Here is one I am particularly proud of." He reached into a bag behind him and pulled out a small framed picture. It depicted a charming patch of roses under an clear blue sky. He held the picture out.
Matthias took the picture and peered at it, only to feel, to his horror, that he was falling. At the same time he felt like he was being compressed, shrinking, and being stretched out as something pulled at him. His axe fell to the ground onto the pavement behind him, but already the street felt far away, a different world.
Within moments, he found himself in a field full of roses. In the sky he could still see the world he had been in only moments ago. The artist's face peered at him, and comprehension dawned in him as he took a closer look.
"You--you're--"
"Francis Bonnefoy, painter of worlds," the artist finished for him with calm smile as the image faded from the sky. "I do hope you enjoy your stay." The sky finished fading into a perfectly normal blue sky, leaving Matthias alone and weaponless in the strange new world.

Historical canon: China/Ancient Rome? I need to explore whether that one actually is historically canon or not. (There's a village in China with lots of people with caucasian features said to be founded by a legion of lost Roman soldiers, but apparently DNA testing proved that wasn't the case.) Otherwise probably DenNor.
Okay, how about yaoi, yuri, and hetero? What are your feelings on that? And while you are at it, how do you like your uke/seme dynamic?
Man, ever since I discovered SuFin and yaoi I've had trouble formulating hetero pairs, but I love me some het smut too. Yuri is something I don't read much, at least in part because it's harder to come upon. As for uke/seme, I just wishe people didn't take ukification to such an extreme all the time. I mean, some SuFin doujins make Finland a quivering moeblob. It's disturbing.
