The last couple of weeks have been filled with all types of ups and downs. Start off with the job offer, which is exactly what I wanted. Class is now over with for the semester and I feel pretty good about the finals. My sister got a puppy Sat. the 15th, named her Zoie. It was great to have a puppy in the house again. I have been in Destin since last Friday, relaxing and doing some Christmas shopping.

Now the downs, finals are coming up, like first one is a week from Friday...stress...
The major downer came Sunday morning. Zoie, Katie's puppy had died at 2 months, while in the care of Katie's boyfriend. This is so bad on so many levels.
First off, the vets believe that she was a diabetic. Not just the lack of sugar that many small puppies have, but full blown. He told my dad that if Zoie had lived, it is likely she would have to have shots every week for the rest of her life. It was nothing that anyone really could have caught, except by blood test, which is not normally done on puppies.
She died while Katie's boyfriend, Eric, was keeping her. The puppy woke him up around 2am whining, then went into a coma and passed away. This is harsh, especially since our last dog, Chi Chi, also died while in Eric's care. Neither of these deaths were his fault, but as you can image, he is starting to get a complex about it.
And finally, to Katie, this was her baby. The two of them clicked from the minute Katie held her. And to be in the room wiht her when she got the news, and to hear her cry out that it couldn't be.. it just breaks my heart thinking about it. It reminds me so much of being in the room when my grandmother passed, and hearing my dad cry, and call out to her to tell her its ok to move on. I'm crying now just typing all this.
Katie still isn't doing well with the death. She and my mom got back to Corinth yesterday, while I got in today. Mom said that Katie and Eric had gone somewhere to look at puppies so Katie can get a new one. She won't be to long in getting another one, if she can find one that fits her. We called the kennel where she got Zoie, they offered her a black mini-pincher (Zoie was a red/brown min-pin). But Katie wants the red/brown color one. They didn't have any of those, so they are refunding the money.

I suppose the reason this bothers me the most, well other than I really loved the little dog as well, is the reason why Katie got the puppy. Katie is so lonely in Oxford. She got the puppy to have someone to come home to. She has never lived alone like I have, so while I tend to enjoy being alone, Katie can't stand it. Our roommate isn't home much these days as well, and is expected to probably move out at the begining of the year. So now that the puppy is gone, Katie is back to being alone. I would love to be there for her, and will try my best, but with finals coming up, I don't know how much I could do. I suppose we will see what happens once everyone is back in Oxford.

And that was a really long and depressing post I know, but all will be better I hope. I thought about cutting most of this, but since I'm not sure how do to that, I'll just leave it.
But I suppose things are getting better. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I get to spend it with my family, eating and watching football. Then I'll study for finals, take them, and then get drunk. Watch return of the king, maybe have a date at some point (heres to hoping), and then get ready for the new year.

So thats all for now,
Love you all happy Thanks giving.
