Yo, all. I quit using LJ after they started putting up those nasty ads that take over your screen. However, I now have a
blog and I need you guys to help me out on it.
I am in a contemporary arts class this quarter, and one of our projects has to do with Post-Structuralism. Post-Structuralism has a lot of facets, but the reading that intrigued me the most was a discussion of the vast differences between writer, work, and reader.
The essay boiled down Post-Structuralism in writing to this: What the writer has written means nothing. What matters is what the reader thought was written.
So, my project is this. I posted a thing on my new blog. You all can read it, then afterwards you can comment, following my instructions. On Wednesday, I will blank out my entry, and display your comments to my classmates and teacher. This way, they will only be able to deduce what I wrote, by deciding what you all thought I wrote.
Commenting Instructions:
After reading through the entry, more than once if you like, digesting the information like mean rooster stew, comment, answering my three questions in one or two sentences.
1. What is the story essentially about? Summarize.
2. What part did you feel the most strongly about?
3. Did reading any part of this make you think differently than you did before reading it? How?
