So, I didn't get to sleep until 8am this morning, for various reasons, so I worked on this from 4am to 8am and then finally got some sleep. I quite like how it turned out - there's deliberately no pairings because I decided to focus on the Pevensies as siblings (but if any of you can find any pairing subtext, you're quite welcome to read into it ( Read more... )

Here via ceilidh's journal, and I'm ever so glad I clicked the link. This is so sad and lovely and wonderfully written, and I adore how there are echoes of C.S. Lewis's other themes from other books -- especially at the end, in the idea that sometimes you need to have something you love taken away from you in order to actually know what Love is.

Oh my god, that was so incredibly painful and beautiful. I'd never even thought about what it must have been like for Susan at the end of the Last Battle - I don't think Lewis wanted us to care, but it's so much better when we do! *cries* This was so lovely.

I was disgusted with the way The Last Battle went in relation to Susan - it must have been horrible for her to be left alone, not to mention having to identify the bodies and bury them, and go on living. Argh!

Oh, now I'm broken. I love reading fic that addresses the problem of Susan and this is just spot on. It's so very true to all the characters and to Narnia in general. I love this, though it's made me cry. ;)
