I've got Bats on the brain of late, and have been spending my free hours watching episodes of The Batman, again. It has planted a short ficlet idea in my head, which I will now share with you.
Scene: Gotham, wee twilit hours of the morning. The Batmobile winds it's way through the empty streets, on it's way home after a night's patrol. Batman, Bruce Wayne, behind the wheel, the streetlamps that flash by overhead casting repeating patterns of light-shadow-light-shadow on the interior of the vehicle. In the passenger seat, young Robin, Dick Grayson, fast asleep after a long night's good work, head pillowed on his bundled cape against the side of the door. Both a bit battered and bruised, but both safe and sound. It is a touching, softly warm and peaceful father/son scene, despite the capes and masks and unusual transportation.
I wish someone would write this, because I need some B&R familial fluff.
