Hello again, back at last

Jan 10, 2011 17:04

Hello again, internet, oh how I've missed you and your ability to connect me to all my friends and activities. *hugs her computer screen for quite a long and embarrassing time.*

The past week has been one of the utter miseries of my year so far. No internet at all. I spent much of my time playing Pokemon Silver and staring at the fish in Petco; how exciting they are. I've determined that even if I had the time to take care of them and the space to put them, it would cost me at least 100 bucks to buy, house, and properly maintain a small fishtank, so I just keep stamping down this urge to buy-buy-buy.

But I kinda do miss having fish. I think my perfect tank would be a small one with a half-dozen Rasburas and/or neon tetras, and an algae eater or two. With black gravel and neon plants, maybe. I dunno. Maybe I can find an online create-a-fishtank-screensaver thing.

ANYWAYS. I'm a bit nonsensicle today, aren't I? That's cuz it's cold, and the day has been full of fail. I woke up far too early, then was rewoken by the cleaning ladies when I finally got back to sleep. Had to go to school at noonish because it was the first day of Spring Semester and I was worried I wouldn't get parking; instead, I found excellent parking in 3 minutes, and forgot to bring my DS to wittle the time away. Spent $20 I don't have on a parking pass, went to class, learned that my teacher is supposedly an excellent teacher but a hardass grader. Ugh, I'm doomed.

Okay, so none of that ws really fail. The fail comes later, when I came home, turned on my phone to check my messages, and checked my email. First, I saw I had an email from an internship thing I signed up for, that said they would be calling me today. They sent that message at 11am, so they probably called my house in Riverside, and didn't get a response. So I emailed them to say they could reach me at my cell better, and went to check my text messages for the flight info for my parents.

WHILE I was doing that, I got a call from the internship people. (Oh, it gets better.) Startled, I attempted to exit out of the message system to answer it, and succeeded in sending a Sorry-not-available automated text and HANGING UP ON THEM.
Oh my GOD I am FAIL.

So, yes. They will probably call back tomorrow, unless they decide I'm just not worth it. *headdesk, sigh* I'm gonna get some food, which will be the first food I've had all day, and pack an overnight bag because I have to drive my parents home tonight.

And then I will go to Petsmart in Tustin and stare at the fish until I get a call saying I'm needed at the airport.

school, work
