I think that, out of all the types of speeches they make us do in Speech 1, personal narratives piss me off the most. I can never figure out what to say, what story to tell. What has made me Me? What makes Megan Queen, n.e. Meghan McLorian, the kesomon she is today?
I can't very well tell the story of how I met my mate, because it is not a story you Tell in a public class. I can't explain my anti-drug, anti-booze beliefs because to me its common sense. I have no religion, yet I'm hardly atheist, so I can't be labeled one way or the other. My life is thoroughly dull, for all its troubles. I spend 80% of my time in a room on a computer playing neopets or reading fanfic.
Maybe that should be my narrative. "I'm nothing special, let me tell you why." Ha. I'd get warning notes on how self-depricating my writing is and how I should Stop Doing That, but I am an optimistic pessimist, and dangit, I like my glass half-empty. It means I can drink my drink without wasting any of it because my tiny stomach can't gulp a full glass.
I might be a little hormonal today.
