This is buggering irksome.
I'm hunting for a knight rider classic fic I read once. In it, Michael is badly injured, possibly being protected beneath Kitt's wheels, and Kitt can't move or else he'll injure him further. Eventually, he has to move, and streaks away to obtain help for Michael. There's lots of rain and cops start chasing him and he jumps a bridge and all.
I'm not sure if I'm remembering the events properly, but it's driving me nuts that I can't find it.
EDIT: Found, after sweeping the same writer's ff.net page five times. Choices, by Gumnut. And I think I'll spend the next week setting up Del.icio.us archives of all the fics I keep losing track of.
