Alrighty, I'm back, I'm sober enough after last night's sugar rush, and I'm here to say things.
Had a lot of fun yesterday, is really all I can remark. I saw Hairspray with my folks, and I was surprised and well-pleased. Like Grease, I found myself checking my watch during some of the songs, but the songs themselves were very good. Everyone proved to be great singers and dancers and the story itself was brill. I will agree with a few critics of the movie however and admit I didn't like John Travolta in his role. Whether that was his having to sing like a girl (he isn't the best at that to be honest) or whether that was just my totally bizzare and unfair weirdness-factor I get around REALLY redicuously overweight people (don't ask, really, I know it's prejudicial but I can't help it) I just didn't like him. However the rest of the movie made up for it.
I'm just one section away from being finished with chapter 1 of Temple of Blood, yay. Unfortunately my brain is dead. Boo. I got quite a bit written in the hour or so after the movie, then I headed off to Imagine That for the party.
Got there about 8 and went to get some delicious garlic cheese sticks from the pizza place there, for later. Then I helped set up, talked to some early-arrivals, wandered around. During the party I met a wonderfully shiny person,
rema_suzuki, and we hung all night. I got a streak of black painted in my hair at one of the activity booths. All it did was create a sticky mess that got all over my fingers the rest of the night; I can't help the touching of the hair!
Anyways, I discovered that while everyone was lining up to get their books, the actual distribution process, if you were willing to wait till last to get the book, went by very quickly. So, instead of standing in line, I set up a blanket on the grass and waited it out with Remy. Make a point of note, if you do something radical like setting up a blanket when everyone else is waiting in line, it attracts the news photographers. I joked that the paper they run those photos in will pick and choose the photo that has me smearing black dye across my cheek. XD
Anyways, I got my book and a chocolate frog and came home, took a shower to get rid of the black dye, and went to bed.
So now here I am, writing this, watching Burn Notice and The Haunted Mansion on telly, and eating lemon pound cake smothered in nutella. X3 Nummy.
I will eventually read my new book, honest. I just want to do a few other things first. Like sleep a few more decades. And get some more lemon cake.
