Mambo 26 May 10 & miscellaneous

May 28, 2010 01:21

Mambo was kinda boring in a way that night, but I did not really want to disturb the 2 DJs and just let them spin their due as I had already requested for a blastoff the week before. I thought that maybe it was just I did not have any mood but apparently, the boys were just as bored to have gone over to Phuture a few times.

Met Catherine up for dinner and the boys joined us later on and we actually reached Zouk very early that night, at about slightly earlier than 10pm in fact.

And my first point of business was to look for Gary to see how badly was he hurt from last week's incident he had with a drunk customer while working at the deck. Well, he's still cute despite the injury on his eye, lol!

After that which, we were just hanging out at Members' Bar (after Gerard finished shitting) waiting for the time to pass and Sam and Kevin and friends came to Members' too soon after. I was rather restless that night, especially when a lot of things were in mind, of which one was for the 1st time in my life, I had a bit of tonsil infection. A few other things were my trip to Cambodia this Friday (later on from now as I am writing this) as well as an important date on Thursday. (which I just came back from)

Friends of the boys eventually reached and I began feeling a slight discomfort in the face of a bigger group. What a lot of people did not know about me was despite my social butterflying in Zouk sometimes, I have a rather... anti-social personality. Surprising, but not so to best friend Garry and others who know me better than most, I don't really like to hang be around a group too big for my comfort and when I am around one, I would actually suddenly become very withdrawn, quiet and distant. It has happened before even when I was out clubbing or chilling with best friend Garry and friends and if suddenly the group got more people joining than usual, I would just suddenly take on this anti-social personality.

So I eventually decided to just go down to the dancefloor where I felt slightly more at ease, even when I did not know exactly who would be down there.

And not long after, an ultra rare guest, an ex Mambo regular, smsed and I went out to bring him in. Been so long since Kevin Ong came to Mambo, haha! But I kinda felt slightly guilty for not really entertained him that night, especially when I thought it was such a boring night anyway. Should have given up trying to expect too much for that night and just went ahead to catch up with him, probably would have been more entertaining for myself too, haha! Though he assured me later on that he was not exactly too left alone.

The night ended after what seemed to be a long tiring wait for something exciting, anything at all, and Russell gave me a ride home. I thought it was rather funny that he complained of people thinking he's gay but yet I never had that perception, which had him asking why I had hit on him in the first place then and I just shrugged and replied that I hit on any guy regardless of whether I thought he might be gay or not. I did assure him that my gaydar never went off on him though, which meant I was hitting on him even when I already kinda expected that he is a straight guy to begin with. I don't think that was any actual consolation, but what the heck, haha!

I went to sleep at about 5.30am and woke up at around 11.30am to prepare for a slightly long afternoon and evening ahead. I had an interview at Orchard after which I had to rush down to Vivocity to meet a date. It was kinda important enough for me that I actually went down to Sentosa to recce the dinner place first a day earlier. (prior to meeting Cat for dinner before Mambo)

The whole idea was to dine at Coastes beach bar at Siloso beach at around 6.30pm that we would be able to view the sunset, but it was rather unfortunate that he was held up at work for awhile and we actually started eating at only around 8pm. Well, at least from where we were we managed to catch a glimpse of the fireworks from the Songs Of The Sea show.

After dinner, we took a short walk, also that since he needed to book a chalet at Coasta Sands, and even went to take a look at Wavehouse for the very first time that I kept hearing about it. Hmm... honestly... from all the hype I have been hearing about it from friends, both my date and I agreed that it really is nothing impressive at all.

In any case, it had been an enjoyable dinner, I dearly hope it was so for him too, considering I actually even recce the place first, lol!

Last but not least, I just want to bitch. About? LOST!

Considering I actually missed out one Mambo for the series before, watching it from 6pm all the way till 6am, and waiting eagerly for the final season to show... the finale was... extremely disappointing! Well, there are now actually 2 schools of fans. 1 is full of people like myself, who have extreme great expectations from an epic drama serial like LOST but now we felt disgustingly cheated. (after having watched the finale which just finished airing in the US about 2 days ago) The other school (SPOILER ALERT!) are just so happy to see all their favorite characters get together back again and moved on, claiming that was what the whole show of 6 years had been about all along - the characters. -.-"

I am kind of glad I had not exactly followed the series fervently for the past 6 years but instead cheated and just watched them all in a single shot. (from season 1 to 5 at least) So maybe the impact of the disappointment was not really that dramatic on me, but still...

Oh well, what to do?

And now, to have a good night's sleep and prepare for Cambodia later on.

Love,
Kes~
