[They all got their eyes on Sho...]Nino dusted off the imaginary dirt on his pants as he stood up from the seat in the waiting area of the hospital. The air was filled with the smells of antiseptics and old people. He hadn't gotten used to waiting, and he wasn't a very patient person.
When Jun finally walked out from one of the doors, Nino sighed with relief. At long last, he's here now. I can finally get some sleep after playing Clash of Clans. "How's the check up?"
Jun shrugged. "Nothing big. I just lost a few pounds."
"Oh, really?" asked Nino, feigning indifference. "I didn't notice at all."
"I haven't eaten well in a while. I kept on dreaming a lot about Sho." Jun replied.
Ha! I knew it! He's always looking at Sho since the start of the tour, Nino mused before replying, "What are your dreams about?"
When Nino glanced at Jun, the latter was blushing. "No-nothing," Jun replied reluctantly.
"Well," Nino said, "if you need someone to talk to, I'm just here."
Nino often said that he's easy to talk to when it comes to his band mates' problems which was right. However, he never really listens. It's like he has that thick wall blocking his thoughts whenever his band mates tell him their problems. He couldn't even give them good advice!
"Thanks, Nino," Jun said while smiling feebly.
The following day, Aiba was sitting in the dressing room while waiting for his photo shoot for Potato magazine. He looked nauseous. In the dressing room, it was only him, Nino and Sho. Nino was listening to his playlist on his iPod, while playing a game and Sho was busy reading the newspaper while taking some notes.
Nino looked up from his game and noticed that Aiba seemed feverish. "Aiba-chan, is there a problem?"
Aiba glanced at Sho first before whispering, "I need to talk to someone about my problem."
Nino cocked his head. "What's wrong?"
"I can't say it here." He was still looking at Sho.
Nino grinned mischievously when he saw in the mirror how Aiba looked at Sho. "Meet me later after your photo shoot."
Aiba reluctantly nodded, "Thanks."
After Aiba photo shoot, Nino and Aiba were sitting alone in the dressing room. Apparently, Sho just left for News Zero. Aiba was still looking nauseous and Nino was afraid that his friend might vomit even before telling him what was wrong so he sat a few inches away.
"Now tell me," Nino said.
"Well, I when I see Sho, I feel afraid."
Ha! I knew it. I guess Sho did something weird in front of him. "Why?"
"I don't know how to say it," Aiba replied, looking at his fingernails as if they were the most fascinating objects in the universe.
"Just spill," Nino said, getting a little irritable.
"I keep dreaming about Sho!" Aiba said, almost screaming.
"Calm down," Nino said, "There's no fire!"
"Sorry," Aiba apologized. "I'm just a little afraid that he would find out about my dreams."
"What are your dreams about?" Nino asked slowly.
Aiba glanced sideways, feeling uncertain. "I don't know how to tell you. And besides, I think it will be better if we don't continue this conversation." He stopped when Sho entered the room.
"Hi!" Sho said, "What's up with the hushed voices?"
"No-nothing," Aiba stammered, "I've got to go, Nino. See you later."
Nino and Sho stared at the flustered Aiba as he almost bumped onto the door before he opened it. When Aiba left, Sho turned to Nino. "What's wrong with him?"
"Beats me," he shrugged and turned around.
Sho didn't leave. He rubbed the back of his neck as he thought of asking something to Nino. "Er," he started, "Do you have plans on Saturday?"
Nino looked back at Sho. He stared past the latter, seeing Ohno's shadow, nearing the dressing room -- Aiba left the door ajar.
Absently, Nino replied, "Nothing. Why?"
"I'd like to invite you at home."
This made Nino snap back to reality. "Wh-why?"
"Nothing," Sho replied coolly. "I just said that I want to invite you. Have dinner or something."
"We can grab a beer instead if you want," Sho eyed Nino.
Nino considered this. Well, what happens, happens, he thought. "Alright. Let's have some drinks then." He went out to get some fresh air, catching up to Ohno.
"What are you doing here?" Nino asked.
The two of them were at the rooftop of Johnny's building. They didn't have anything else to do since their taping for a music video was cancelled and was to resume the next day.
Staring out into the bustling city below them, Ohno replied, "I was just thinking about you and Sho-kun."
Eh? What the heck does that mean? Nino pondered. "I don't get it, Oh-chan." He scratched the back of his head as he said so.
Silence became their best friend as Ohno didn't reply anymore. Instead, they welcomed the silence. Both of them liked the quietness, not even thinking about anything at all. It didn't bother them, unlike Aiba.
Moments later, Nino was lying down facing the ceiling in his bed, a game console on his hands as he concentrated on his game; nibbling on his lower lip.
He was about to attack when his phone vibrated continuously, announcing a call. He sighed and looked at the screen. It was Ohno who was his caller. He answered after putting his game on pause, placing the console on the bed, "Yep?"
"Do you have time?"
"Now?" Nino asked.
There was silence, and shuffling on the other line. Nino could imagine Ohno shifting the phone to his other ear. "I'm sort of in front of your apartment, though I didn't want to ring the doorbell, in case you were in the shower."
When Nino opened the door to let Ohno enter, he was shocked to see that the older one was still wearing the clothes that he had on earlier: a plaid black and white shirt and a pair of jeans. His hair was ruffled as if he rode on the wrong side of the bullet train.
"Come in."
After a change of slippers, Ohno was seated on Nino's living room. He related the course of events that happened after Nino had left Johnny's. "Aiba came to me, telling me that he already kissed Sho on the lips. I told him that it's normal, thinking that they only practiced for VSA, but he told me later that he confessed to Sho. I practically stood still until I couldn't breathe!"
Ah, so that's why Aiba was being quiet when I asked him what he dreamed about! Nino mused, amused at his friend. "Well, it happens." Nino shrugged.
"But I thought he was dating... what's her name again?" Ohno said, thinking about the girl that Aiba told them about before.
"Damn," Nino smiled as he recalled the picture that Aiba showed them, "That girl was HOT! But, she was a girl that poses for a porn magazine, Oh-chan. I'm sure that she's just Aiba's acquaintance."
"Oh," Ohno said finally, "I guess so."
But he was still fidgeting. Nino already noticed this before, but he just didn't really pay attention to it. "What's wrong?"
"Huh?" Ohno jumped and looked straight into Nino's eyes. Clearly, there was something wrong. "No-nothing."
There was a sense of deja vu that fell to Nino. "When Aiba told me that there was nothing wrong with him, you came here and told me that he told you that he confessed to Sho. So, there is something wrong Oh-chan. Fess up!"
"I am dreaming a lot about Sho. So, when Aiba..." he paused as he cleared his throat, "when Aiba told me that he confessed to him, I wanted to - I wanted to..." he couldn't continue.
"You wanted to confess as well?" Nino said it for him.
"Yes." Ohno answered, his eyes clouded.
"What's up with you three? I mean. I gather J is close to him, but what made you and Aiba dream a lot about him and what were your dreams about?!"
Ohno looked at Nino slowly. "Do you want to know?"
-----------------------------------
Because of Nino's curiosity, he followed Ohno to Akihabara. It amazed Nino that Ohno knew the streets well. They turned left to a corner and after two blocks, they turned right and Nino was facing a huge establishment, painted in shades of red, pink and grey.
"What's this, Oh-chan?" Nino turned to face the older one.
"This is one of Sho's work."
It looked shady for Nino. The place was an old building, and most of the people entering seemed to be looking behind them, trying to look inconspicuous. Nino gulped before following Ohno inside the establishment. In all of the people there, they were the worst dressed. Inconspicuous or not, people inside were rich and famous.
"What kind of place is this?" Nino asked after nudging Ohno, who looked entranced already.
"Oh, it's kind of a maid cafe."
What the heck is Sho doing and working at a maid cafe or whatever this place is? He is a freakin' idol! What if the fans learned about this? What would they think?! Nino was wide-eyed. As they walked towards the center table, Nino saw that Sho was wearing...
Ohno casually sat on one of the seats that were in front of them; Nino following the gesture.
But, Nino stared as he sat. Then, he stilled. He didn't know what he was seeing. Looking at the rapper and the only university graduate of Arashi, in maid's clothing, frilly and black and white, almost made Nino gush. He wanted to laugh -- a laugh so loud that could even cause an earthquake, but he held his breath. So, this was what Sho was doing whenever he was busy.
He glanced at Ohno, who was not hiding his feelings for Sho. He was blushing as Sho busied himself in mixing drinks and making heart-shaped pancakes.
"Are you alright?" Nino asked, hiding his embarrassment as he noticed that he was the only one that was not into Sho.
"Huh?" Ohno didn't look away from Sho.
"I was asking if you're alright."
"Yes," he replied, wiping the drool away from his mouth. Then, he turned to Nino, "See?"
"Yes, I see, Oh-chan." Nino sighed.
"This is why I like Sho!" Ohno confessed shyly. "He's smart, he's awesome, and he's this," he casually gestured a hand to where Sho was, "too!"
"What would you like?"
The voice of Sho suddenly interrupted Ohno's proclamation of his love for Sho. Ohno stiffened; however, it was only Nino who saw the body language.
"Uh, I guess, I would like some omre-raisu." Ohno ordered, as if it was only natural to see Sho near them, outside the green room, wearing a girl's clothing.
"What about you?" Sho turned to Nino. Nino could just see the sparkle in Sho's eyes. He was definitely the only member of Arashi who hadn't seen this side of Sho.
"I'll have what he's having." Nino shrugged.
Turning back to Ohno, Sho asked with a smile so charming, "What would you like me to put on your omre-raisu?"
"Ketchup."
"Alright, I'll be back after five minutes." With that, he went to other tables to take some orders.
Silence again. Nino's heart thumped along with the pop music that was playing in the background. He guessed that it was one of Kanjani-8's songs, hearing the sound of Ryo's voice. With more silence, they didn't notice that it was already five minutes and Sho was back with their orders.
"Omre-raisu!"
He was holding a bottle of ketchup with a spout at the end. Nino already knew what Sho was going to do, since he had been playing dating sims for too long. He started with Ohno's food, placing a misshapen rabbit. He was about to turn to Nino's when Ohno stopped Sho.
"Is it possible that you could also add a heart there?" Ohno requested.
Sho smiled one of his killer smiles, "Alright."
After doing the requested heart, he went to fix Nino's. He wrote only a simple text, For Master.
The night was too long for Nino. He was still shocked at Sho's other work, and clearly, he too would dream Sho for the following days to come. It was traumatizing for him, but he wasn't one to judge.
The following day when they came to work, Sho was sitting nonchalantly on the sofa when Nino entered. Aiba wasn't there yet, and Jun was having his make-up fixed. Nino looked around for Ohno, but couldn't spot the older one.
"Who has seen Oh-chan?" he asked to no one in particular.
It was Sho who replied, "He's in the restroom."
Nino nodded in acknowledgement and went to the said place. When he entered, he saw a wide-eyed Ohno staring in space.
"What happened?"
"He," he paused, still staring out in the distance, "kissed me!"
"Who kissed who?" Nino was bewildered.
"Sho. kissed. me."
He wanted not to be like a gossiping woman, but it was news to Nino so he continued his interrogation, "Fess up." He shook Ohno to calm the older one.
"I came up to him and confessed. It started normal. We were the first ones in the green room," he breathed as he was starting to talk fast, "then I told him I liked him. Then he said that he declined Aiba's confession! He told me that he also liked me, too. He didn't know when it started; maybe it was when you and I started to hang around that he got well, jealous? I don't know. He told me that he asked you for a beer this weekend. And that was just because he wanted to tell you that he wanted me all for himself!"
"What happened to Aiba though?"
"Oh, I think he's dating Jun now." Ohno laughed sheepishly.
It was a long statement that Nino got from Ohno and he was still confused. At least, it wasn't me who Sho got his eyes on. That would really creep me out! Nino laughed inwardly.
Then, realization hit Nino, "Were you also jealous when you saw me talking to Sho alone the other day?"
Ohno laughed then nodded, which earned the older one a slap at the back of his head. "Go back to your boy friend." They walked back to the green room laughing.
