I found it very funny to watch the Japanese adaptation of the book, Murder on the Orient Express. As some of my friends in the real world know, this was one of the first few books that I have read from Agatha Christie. I'm fond of reading detective stories especially when it's Hercule Poirot who's in charge. I'm very particular of the character who plays in every Poirot series, and when I came and watched this version, it was hard for me to really like it at first.
Masai, who played Hercule Poirot's character in the mini-series, was - to be honest - good when it came to parody. I loved the book and I loved the story, and it's just hard to imagine that there would be a Japanese that would make this film. I wanted to watch this was first, because of Nino, and second, because it was one of my favorites.
Thankfully, they didn't make it as a series; most often, Japanese dramas are 10-11 episodes long and I didn't want that to happen. I wanted it to stay fresh and close to the book as possible. Though they didn't use Poirot's name, thank goodness.
Well, anyway, I liked it and I expected worse.. ^_^ teehee...
What about you? What is your opinion about the mini-series? I would be glad to talk about it with you. ^_^
