Once upon a dream...not.

Here we are...two months in to my Disney College Program experience, and I have to say, I can only give it about a 5 out of 10 rating. Of course, certain things are better than others, but mostly I'm just ready to go home. I work for Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort in merchandising for two stores; the Marketplace and Fittings and Fairings. The resort, by far, is beautiful, but the job...not so much. I get payed $7.25 an hour to get yelled and gripped at for every little thing I do (SLAVE LABOR). Even if I'm doing the right thing, it's still not right. I'm not too fond of the coordinators and managers. Not all of them are bad, but there are those few, who it seems I always work with, that aren't too hot. But I don't want to go into detail about those few.

Basically, when you come to work for Disney, all of the magic is sucked out of your experience forever. I don't think, if I ever come back to Disney World on vacation, it will be magical. Only because, once you've been backstage and you know all of Disney's "secrets," it's just not ever going to be the same. I'm not saying I hate Disney, I still love it and enjoy the parks and movies Disney produces, but it's just not the same once you work for the company. You do meet a lot of people from all around the world, and make wonderful new friends, but that's the only thing you will miss once you leave. Maybe it's just where I'm stuck working, but that's just how I feel. I thought I was going to come down here, love it, and want to work here forever...HA, no. But, everyone has their own opinion. Others love their job and don't want to leave. Unfortunately, everyone at my work location that I've talked to about it wants to leave...now. And we're only half way done.

Next week, I am deployed to work at the Grand Floridian. I'm quite scared, but kind of happy about it at the same time. It will definitely be a new and different experience. The Grand Floridian is a Disney resort that sits right next to Magic Kingdom and Cinderella's Castle. It's a very high end resort, so if you have money to blow, this is where you want to stay. It's $500+ a night, depending on what room you select to stay. Fancy! And it's very beautiful! Looking forward to the experience! =)

So, those were my thoughts throughout the day as I traveled with some newly-made friends through Disney's Magic Kingdom today. I got my free copy of Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray/DVD from my work today, so I'm gonna sign off and go watch it! =D Have a spectacular/awesome/supercalifragilistic day!! ^_~
