Weekend of perfection
Well a busy few weeks. Two weeks ago i went to the Ren. Fes. for the forth year in a row. Sadly Maia my sword goddess wasn't there, that was one of the huge reasons why i went again, i wanted to buy another sword from her. Well the party of like eight or nine dropped down to four by the time we left. So it was me, Mike, Joe, and Erica. It was great to have my brother along, we laughed and cracked jokes and the day felt good. We went to these Sodus point bluff that megan told me about. The parking lot was completely empty, and was tiny. The water was blue and pure. We got a few good pictures of the beach and we skipped stones. We had the longest throw, i won out on that one (go Yankees!) then Mike and I skipped like huge flat rocks. And these suckers actually skipped it was uber cool. We then trekked up the trail through the woods to get to the top of these bluffs. It was a pretty steep hill and we were struggling to get up it. But we manage. The view was breath-taking. We were a good sixty feet up in the air looking at these bluffs. They had such cool patterns and there was this one weird sliver out in the middle of this thing. We took a few pictures. We then trekked even higher and were not about a eighty feet up and the view was even more amazing. You could barely tell the difference from horizon sky or lake. We took a few more pics then went even HIGHER to one of the top most points. The walk out was a little scary and when I took a glance down I could feel a little disoriented so I snapped a few pics and headed down. (Megan told me when I go again to look up from the lake, it looks really impressive.) On the way down I tried to catch up and started to gain some speed, almost too much speed. I actually caught a tree with one of my hands and snapped off a picture.
We finally arrived at the festival and to me things seemed so much different. Many of the acts I had NEVER seen or seen at a different time which turned out to be different shows. I did ninja star throwing. Almost got it a few times. Mike had wood earlier in the day lol, well he did the axe throwing and managed to get a wooden medallion. We took a look at some new shops one was really weird, insects, bats, and mice made out of other materials like stones, bronze and stuff. They looked really life like which was pretty creepy. We saw sword swallowing, Don Wun and Miguel who were HILARIOUS! And they had their daughter there which was super pretty. This guy who did dangerous stunts on ladders or upside down. And of course the Jousting which was COMPELETELY different. They had the announcer more involved there were women on horses ride around, it was completely reworked, though it wasn’t their best performance, the horses weren’t cooperating a few times, the lances didn’t break a few times. But still I thought the performance was great and fresh. We did the archery, I even helped one of the other people there. She was having trouble shooting it and she was next to me. So after I was done I see her try and then look at me and go “how do you do this?” so I gave her some pointers and such, she as pretty too and seemed sweet. Well when she got done she managed to hit the bullseye once which was cool. I then left and we went and bought my sword, though not from Maia. LLL Turns out she’s a singer now in Arkansas so I looked her up online and found her myspace page. She’s got some good music. I also found out their selling SPARTAN SPEARS from 300, they are only making 300 spears and I’m getting one GORAMIT! I emailed them so I’m just waiting for a response. But I did get a sword. The longest one they had Ah-roo!!! The sales rep said she’s never seen a sword like mine, which is perfect cuz that means I have three unique ones and bought five, gave one to D and another to Paulie. The sword was so long it barely fit in Mike’s car lol. I also saw some chain mail and breastplate armor but they’re too expensive so I’m gonna try to make my own.
I also found out that Rachel is pysiced to go which is great. So if things work out it’ll be Me, Josh, Rachel, her brother, Nick, Lucy, D, and maybe Erica. And once again I’m gonna get another sword, and hopfully a spear. I’m also gonna dress up this time since Rachel said she’s gonna dress up for the occasions which would be really cool. And we’re gonna visit the bluffs again. So August 11, is the next time we’re going, have to make sure everyone is good to go by then. Once again, doing all the work. Well mark on, Ah-ROO!!!
