Deadlands Campaign Synopsis Pt. 1
As promised, here, with all dates (in Campaign time, not real time) is the synopsis of what has happened in the Deadlands Campaign thus far.
The group, as it was in the beginning, consisted of the following characters:

April 14, 1789 - The various characters of the group receive a letter from a Ms. Michelle Dessler, inviting them to meet with her in the lobby of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on April 21. Newspapers proclaim the Civil War over, as peace descends on the USA and CSA
April 21, 1789 - The character's, minus Hope, meet with Ms. Dessler, who over a sumptious breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, explains she is on her way to denver and requires the services of the various characters as troubleshooters and bodyguards. She offers to pay the characters $100 dollars a week each, plus expenses, for thier services. When the characters agree, she explains that their first task is to locate the final member of their group, a young Sioux woman named Hope. Ms. Dessler informs the group that Hope was last seen in the Bowry district of NYC, at a bar named The Watering Hole. The group, after spending some of their 3 week advance, goes to the Watering Hole, in search of Hope
At The Watering Hole, the group learns that Hope was in fact there, and was seen speaking with several black men of southern extraction, and even seen leaving with them. Further questioning reveals she had a glazed over look in her eyes when she left. The bartender also reveals that Hope was apparantly interested in several oither gentlemen who used The Watering Hole as their place of business. Queries into the men's identities, revealed that their leader, James Tolkan, tended to hire himself and his co-horts out as hired muscle and could be found hanging around the dock's.
Along the docks, the group spotted a man matching the description of one of the men Hope was seen leaving the bar with. Nigel shadowed the man to a warehouse built onto one of the piers. A slaughterhouse. He took a look inside and saw Hope, lying on the floor, arms and legs secured spread-eageled from her body, surrounded by candles, and three black men in voodoo paraphanelia and makeup. Nigel quickly got the rest of the group, who stormed the building, landing in the inch or so of blood which covered the floor. Several men with guns aided the voodoo priests in the fight as the human corpses haningg from the ceiling animated. Cho Han had alot of trouble keeping his footing on the blood slicked floor, and it didn;t help any when Willy stepped on his prostrate form. However, after defeating the priests and their hired guns, the group saved Hope, who explained she had been looking for two objects which were also near her, a funerary urn, which Madragoria recognized the writing on, and an ornate saber. After leaving the slaughterhouse, the group split up for the night, preparing to leave NY with Michelle. During this time, Hope revealed to MAdragoria the ashes in the urn were of her predecessor, one Anna Vaelrious, who was the previous Slayer. She also explained that the sword belonged to Anna and she had been charged with recovering both items. Apparantly, the priests were using Anna's ashes and sword, along with Hope, to steal the powers of The Slayer, and give them to somone else. In return, Madragoria explained she also knew of Anna, and was in fact, the daughter of dracula, and that she and her sister, were 1/2 vampire and looking for a means of curing themselves of the curse they inherited from their father.
April 22, 1879 - The group returns to the Waldorf to meet Ms. Dessler, and learn that a freind of hers, who she calls Lucy, has contacted her and needs to meet with her desperately. The group accompanies Michelle to Lucy's home, where, while Michelle is with Lucy, a group of cultists attacks the house, attempting to kidnap Michelle and Lucy. During the fight, Nigel and Willy spot Michelle exiting her room to cast some kind of spell on one of the cultists, dispeling the man;s magic. After the fight, the group returns to the Waldorf, intending on departing for Chicago, in the morning. That night, a package arrives at DFan;s room, a letter, timeline, and information, from one Robert Hernandez, a Texas Ranger. In fact, the Texas Ranger who accompanied the cultists. The letter warns the group that Michelle is not to be trustsed and claims to contain information from the future which was sent to Hernandez bny one Shauna O'Hara, of Atlanta. There is also a timeline of events, which seem to chronicle the end of the world and a strange list of names and objects along with several relics. The relics are as follow's : Davy Crockett's Rifel, Benjamin Franklin's Spectacles, a jade carving of the Jade Emperor, Hoyle's original Deck of cards,. an autographed copy of a Short Treatise on Whist, A Silver Necklace with a Praying Mantis on it, A Silver Bullet, and A Silver Crucifix
April 23, 1879 - The group, with Michelle and Lucy, depart NY on a train for Chicago
May 4, 1879 - The group arrives in Chicago. The group meets Frank Marhall, the man who is to marry Michelle in New Orleans. They also hear rumors from a reporter named Robert McNee, of aDr. Henry W. Akely, who apparantly met with Michelle alsomost upon the groups arrival in Chicago. He warns the group of some strange book the Dr. has, something he calls the Necronomicon, and then departs. The books title is included on the mysterious list of names and objects sent by Hernandez. A look over the Hernandez information triggers a recollection on Willy's part. The wrods written on the back of the list of names and objects sound alot like those uttered by Michelle when she dispeled the cultist's magic.
During the night, the group, who are staying in a hotel different from Michelle, Lucy, and Frank, are attacked by a 'demon' and skeletons, which appear out of nowhere in their suite of rooms. The group is kicked out fo the hotel due to the fracas and damage.
May 5, 1874 - The group departs Chicago for St. Louis, where they are to catch a riverboat down the Mississippi to New Orleans.
May 9, 1879 = The group arrives in st. Louis and boards the Missisppi Queen, a lavsh riverboat. Obn board, the meet Sir Ronald Galstonbury, of HEr Majesty's 1st Victorian Regiment, who is accompanying one Shauna O'Hara. They also discover that Michelle's friend Lucy, is apparantly involved with Xiaou Mings brother, who is also aboard the ship. Madragoria tries to speak to shauna O'Hara at a ball held on the ship, only to confuse and anger the southern redhead. Nigel and Cho Han later spot a man trying to climb into Ms. O'Hara's room, only to see his body fall to the ground and a series of gunshots, fired more rapidly than any even Nigel has heard before, kill the man and plunge him into the river.
May 15, 1874 - The riverboat docks at Memphis, wherew Michelle is met by her seemingly good friend, Mina Devlin, owner of the Black River Railroad. Shauana O'Hara departs the ship, as does Xiau's brother. The group spends the evening at Mina Devlin;s mansion, as her guests, and Nigel has an assignation with the beautiful Ms. Devlin.
May 16, 1874 - The group departs Memphis, aboard the riverboat
May 19, 1879 - The riverboat is attacked by fish men (Sauhugin) and a River Leviathan. During the attack, the ship is sunk, and Frank Marshall is killed. The group leads the survivors and Michelle on a trek along and on the river, to the nearest town.
May 21, 1879 - The group arrives in the nearest town, a small fishing town, names Shoreview. The survivors arrange transportation as the group decides to track the fish men and save those they captured. Michelle declares she will wait in the town for the group.
May 23, 1879 - After a delay helping the survivors, the group begins tracking the Sauhugin. The group found the fish men;s village, as the fish men were herding the captured women from a corral into a tub of water. Those who entered the water, emerged soon after, screaming in pain, and after several minutes, began to look pregant. A woman who looked as if she ahd been pregnant for nine months fell to the ground screaming, went through a chest bursting scene much like the one from Alien, and a newborn sauhugin emerged from her body. The group attacked, killing the sauhugin. During the fight, Dan felt a burning in his shoulderwhich let him ignore backlash on a spell and riased the hand by one. Nigel became harrowed, his shoulder glowing as well, and his spirit got raised to d10 AND his Veteran drawback was removed. Xiou's shoulder glowed, returning her to conciousness, and Willy's shoulder glowed, healing his torso. All of those who's shoulder's glowed now bore the scar of a pentagram on their shoulder. The group then helped the women cpatives as best they could, curing those not to far gone and killing those who were, sparring them the pain and terror of giving birth to a sauhugin. The group then returned to the town, with the women they saved, and continued on to New Orleans.
