I'm frequently asked if there is any meaning behind the various screennames I use. So I've created this handy guide explaining all my my screennames still in use. (Though, I won't tell you where any of them are used.)
Thornbird: A friend of mine from Law School started calling me "Thornbird" one day as a reference to both the movie of that name, and my last name. She still uses it, and I didn't find it offensive, so I ran with it.
All the rest (Kerubim, Israfel, Sandalphon): Most frequently, I choose and Angel's name. I've found that these names can mean different things depending on what book you're reading at the time. The source I refer to can be found
here. (Linked directly to the K's because Kerubim is my most commonly used name) That's right, my screen name is nothing more than a really obscure dirty joke.
Anything ending in 05: Though I graduated in December of 2004, I've always considered myself a member of the Fighing Texas Aggie Class of 2005. My Aggie Ring even says I'm class of 05.
Anything ending in 206: The first time I tired to use "Thornbird" as a screenname, it was already taken. Instead of thinking of a number that meant anything to me, I looked at the clock on my computer. It was 2:06am. I have since started appending this number other things. I find it's taken less often than 05.
That should cover just about every permutation I still use. If you've known me long enough to know my online presense as "TheDBWT" I pity you. There you have it, whether you wanted that information or not, you're stuck with it now.
