just cause
well, it's sunday, i am once again at an army class away from home, but today marks my 1 year anniversary being active duty. i can't really believe it, who'd have thought that i'd be living in germany, working for the army. wow. to think, one year ago i was terrified about what i'd just gotten myself into and now i'm halfway across the world and doing just fine?
murphy's law once again struck me last weekend. so, i was an hour from home, i actually had a date believe it or not, and anywho, i stayed over there and bbq'd and watched the US/Italy game. well when i went to leave it was almost midnight and i get to my car and turn it on and my headlights look dim, so i look at them i still have 2 and i'm thinking maybe it's just the street lamp i'm under, so i take off for home. well about 2km down the road, there are no more street lights and i have no headlights, so i call the person's house i just left and was like, you aren't going to believe this. both my headlights are out. so i ended up staying an hour from home that night, had to get up at around 7am to leave there (it gets light here at around 4:30am) go home, pack and then have another 2.5 hour drive up here to vilseck for class...lots of driving. so yea, 2 blown headlights, not the fuse, not electrical, both headlights just went caput. oh well, i got new headlights and i can see again so all is well.
on another note, the world cup is here in germany and although i haven't gone to any of the games, i did make it to nuremburg last week for the US/Ghana game and Japan/Brazil. they have fan fare's set up that are free and you can just watch the game be with friends and surrounded by one hell of an atmosphere. it was a blast! check out my yahoo photos and go to the folder labled FIFA. i have video too, but those won't upload, email me and i'll send you videos if you want them.
next weekend i'm headed to Italy for the fourth of July four day :) i'll post pics from there too. it should be a blast, i'm really looking forward to the trip. other than that though, not much going on, getting out a lil bit more than before and having fun, but still just being me. poor, poor germany...
