Death by Heat

Jun 09, 2008 15:59

I work in an "Historical" building, and so everything is old and doesn't work very well.  It is currently a heat index of over 100 degrees outside and our air conditioning in my office hasn't been working at all today.  At all, just dead air.  Because of yet another delay in them repairing/replacing the system.  I don't know if it was working at all over the weekend.  We have fans everywhere but it's still a furnace in here.  I think that if I make it all the way home at 5 without passing out from the heat, it will be a miracle.  To top it all off, only 2 of our 7 attorneys are in the office today.  One of our partners skipped out this morning to work from home, not a luxury of the "staff".  Still in my suit pants, but my tie is off and my sleeves are rolled up.  I might cry in frustration but I long ago sweated out any and all moisture in my body.

Send repairmen, water, salt, and ice cream.  Hurry, not sure if I can last much...........................
