MSDOS program trumps Mathematica
I tried again to use Mathematica for symbolic math, this time version 8. Yet my vintage 1996 MSDOS program still beats it, reducing equations that Mathematica leaves in expanded form. I've been moving this program (or earlier versions of it) from computer to computer as I upgrade hardware. I first used it on an HP 100 LX Palmtop computer. Now it runs on my Apple MacBook Pro using an MSDOS emulator.
