So we had yet another doctor's appointment for Heather today. It's beginning to feel like last summer, let me tell you.
Last time I wrote, the update was that we had seen the neuro, that he said it was epilepsy, gave us some scripts for meds. We had an MRI scheduled for last Wednesday to make sure that there was nothing structural causing the seizures, and that was pretty much all we knew.
Today we met with the pediatrician for a follow up. I have I mentioned that I lov emy ped and her staff? The greatest I have ever had the privelege of dealing with, let me tell you. They have bent over backwards to get everything that Heather needed in the past month, from calling me after hours with test results, to calling the indivdual neuros and telling them that Heather couldn't wait three months to be seen, and need to be seen within the week. They're awesome, I tell ya.
So anyway - today I found out that the MRI was clean, and that there was nothing structural contributing to the seizures. This is a very good thing, according to the ped - it means no nasty brain cancers for my baby. The bad news is that, because of location and severity, there is little to no chance that Heather will ever outgrow her seizures, and will most likely be on some sort of anti-convulsant for the rest of her life.
In other news, Hans got a job offer from a company that wants to keep us here in Orlando for a while. At this time, he really thinks he's going to take it, but he's going to come home this weekend so we can sit and talk about it face to face, hashing out all the details with all the facts. Still, I really think this is going to be it for us for a while. I'm just so relieved to have some sort of decision made, to be able to go ahead with living our life.
So I guess that's it. I thought I had more to say, but honestly, I'm just so worn out I can't think. So until next time....
