Recognize, Fool.

When I came to work today, there were three more resignation letters on my desk. People are quitting left and right. It has yet to spark a response or a "gee I wonder why" from upper management. Not me, though. I get paid pretty well for what I do and I get weekends off. For a retail job and for someone with an undecided career path and unfinished education, I am not going to complain too much. I would need a couple more years of Administrative duties under my belt before I can ask for more money from another company. Plus, there is just way too much funny shit going on on a daily basis.

Uh, I doubt Donna is going to be able to get married outside Saturday. This rain has been crazy and I have been checking Connecticut's forecast regularly.

Mom bought me a new Betsey Johnson purse and a slew of limited/summer edition MAC. I do not know which purse it is, but I am most happy to add to my collection. Collections. I asked her to scope out Nordstrom's for a MAC shadow I cannot seem to find and she ended up cleaning house! I need to curb my spending so I am back to cooking again. Jeremy and I hit up Costco, Giant AND Han Au Rheum last week so we are good to go. I have stuff to make dinner with, and Jeremy has an arsenal of Hot Pockets (five for 10 dollars) for his lunches.

It was a rather nice and busy weekend. I Feel a lot better but I am still not back to 100%.

Friday:
Came home and was delighted to receive a call from Brian because he was free for the evening. When Jeremy got home we gathered up a bag of booze, hot dogs and limes and headed over to Brian's for margaritas and chat. Brian was a gracious host and the tequila had us feeling alright. The original scheme was to get Meredith and go to Nak Won but she needed to go home after work. Rob and Dale joined us and we decided to pay Susan a visit at her and her Mom's bar because I had never been and I missed her. Jeremy drove us out into the country and we had some awesome food and got to see Susan when she was not busy. It was a late night so Jeremy and I hit the hay with Vitamin Water.

Saturday:
Jeremy had to work a double shift so I piddled around the house for a bit. I picked Brian up around nine and we headed to Nak Won. We really just needed the Nak Won, what can I say? An order of kalbi, an order of pork, various side dishes and two bottles of BOKBUNJAJOO later, we were a bit punchy. The food was awesome as usual but a particular side dish was not. There was a little bowl of something that looked like a ornery black cucumber. After Brian took a mouthful of it and was like, "yeah, no" I took a closer look at realized that it was a whole fish. On our way out we had a Pasty and Edina moment trying to find an ATM. Brian said, "wow, look, we're like, walking down the street in the city" and then I saw a FATASS rat the size of my SHOE scurrying across our path. I HATE CITY RATS. They make my stomach flip and my skin crawl.

Britpop was more of the usual but I actually had a great time. Justice Feelgood Marshall was in the house. Jeremy was on the sidelines with Willie when I arrived but we soon started dancing because there was a doubleshot of T-Rex. Jeremy was working it. I think we pretty much danced straight through and we were alone on stage for quite a while even though I got sweat in my eye and it was burning like a mother fucker. I took Brian home and we had a good conversation in the car. After that it was lights out.

Sunday:
Planned on brunch, but it did not happen. Instead I cooked and we lounged around until going to see Prairie Home Companion. It was a great movie. I highly recommend it. I am not a diehard fan of the show, it has actually been years but I did become familiar with Keillor's work in some college English classes and then more so when I worked at the bookstore. My boss at the time was a huge fan we listened to the radio shows at work. I am glad they made a movie out of it. It was cast extremely well but Kevin Kline really steals the movie. Later in the evening I made us mammoth baked potatoes and we drank Newcastle and watched Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet. I am becoming slightly addicted to that show.

I think I would like a meerkat for Christmas.
