I'm old and cynical, but I hate the term "soul mates"
I've only known two couples that proudly announced this. One ended in a messy divorce while she was pregnant for their first child and he was involved in his third affair. The other was a pair of self satisfied hobbits, with a daughter in braids and pinafores who looked disturbingly like the character from "The Bad Seed"
