"300" Review and other mumblings
Hullo All. I just returned from seeing "300". What a fun movie, but a warning it is a Frank Miller production, so there is blood spray. I recommend this if your sitting in the first 5 rows to wear plastic for gore protection.
What made "300" so cool was it fulfilled my expectations exactly. I expected an overly dramatic, over the top, blood fest. It was indeed a comic book style movie.
Take the dialog, who knows if the Spartans really went around talking like that? But, I expecting the king to rally his troops with such inspirations as he mouthed, "We are Spaaaaaaartans!"
Also, I re-read the comic "300" afterward and the Frank Miller literally took everything word for word out of his comic. Awesome! The only difference was the added political scenes back in Sparta. Had to have more women in the movie for Hollywood's taste.
After saying that, it is not a movie that I would go see again and again. Its a spectacle, I saw it and like it.
Nothing else to report. Off to the Poobah's house for a fun quick vacation down in Red Wing.
