So Sunday I visited Catholic U in Washington D.C. Quight an adventure for Jasmine as she had her first plane ride that day. She was fine on the plane, but she pooped in the terminal as we were walking out of the airport. I have to talk to Mike about this. I always relieve her before we go on car, train, or plane trips or when we'll be inside for a long time. Maybe she's nervous. We had to take the metro to the college and we learned that my puppy does not like escalators. Normally I avoid escalators at all costs bc the people at Gdf said dogs really shouldn't use them, but here I had no choice because the elevator was being repaired and we couldn't find any stairs. It took a lot of encouragement and the escalator actually being turned off for Jazzy to walk up it. The lady was actually considering putting newspaper down on the steps to make her more comfortable. So after that we finally got to the college and met Katelyn and her family who were visiting there too. I'm deffinetly applying there. I liked the dorms, the people, the education program, and the whole place in general. It's easy to get there from the airport because there's a Metro stop right on campus. And it's in Washington D.C., one of the most exciting places in the country. I think I would really fit in down there. Katelyn might apply too because the engineering program is excellent. After our tour we drove home with Katelyn's family and had dinner at Cracker Barrel. YUM!!!!
I had off on Monday, so Katelyn, Marc, and I did what we allways seem to do on days off, cruise the mall. We went to Express Men where Marc bought a rather expensive pair of jeans, Clare's where Katelyn and I bought some jewelry, and Bath and Body where I bought some room spray. We also browsed Ikea and dreamed of future apartments. And here's how Tuesday went.
Study Hall: Did nothing.
English: Listened to a poem and took more Black Boy notes.
Recent History: Fineshed compiling notes on "We Didn't Start the Fire" and attempted to write a verse about the 90's. Didn't come out that well.
Creative Writing: Worked on quote piece.
Apgap: Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles, I actually talked in Government. We were talking about everyone supposedly having equal rights and dignity in America. I raised my hand and said that if everyone had equal rights and dignity then why would I probably never be able to vote independently? I then told the class how there's no such thing as an accesible voting machine, and the ADA hasn't done that much about making one. They all think I should write to our senators. We also discussed the draft again.
Lunch: Swarthmore was supposed to visit our school yesterday but instead we got two tiny Pennsylvania schools and Gwu. I felt bad bc they were all trying to sell me their schools and I allready know where I'm applying. We spent lunch talking about Erik's job at Dairy Barn and how he hates his costomers, as well as going over the quotes so far.
Chorus: Mr. Farrell told me that my solo in the Christmas concert is from Benjamin Britains's Ceremony of Carols and is in Welsh. Now I've seen Welsh and it's very hard to pronounce. How will it be to sing? We have the best song for our chorus. It's a dogsong, and we get to bark out Jingle Bells. It's really fun.
Relating: Had an impromptu guide dog q and a session and didn't get to what we were supposed to do till the end of class.
Study Hall: Spent most of it in guidance fineshing my resume.
Then I had Science Olympiad. I'm doing Forestry and Envronmental Science, both with Katelyn. And now I'm in study hall. We just had a fire drill and I'm really glad I kept my sweater on because it's cold out there. I'll write more later.
